Woooooohooooooo I've been waiting for this day forever. Beta has finally come. I've had their companion toolbar for a couple years now (since I use Yahoo Calender/Mail/Briefcase/Bookmarks and the buttons are nice one-touch access)...

Had to install Google Toolbar on top of it because Yahoo doesn't have a popup blocker... TILL NOW.

What's up now...

EDIT>> You can even have it allow popups from specific sites...

RH71, googlebar already had that feature ;)
Is this true ? I checked before I made that remark. Where in the options is it ?

BTW, I made this post for those who already use Yahoo Companion (or were thinking about it because of the integration). I didn't expect anyone to uninstall their precious Google Toolbar. I jump around the web at amazing speeds with the Bookmarks (from any machine on the Internet - once signed in).

Believe me, I'd be all over Firebird if Yahoo Companion had support for it. Then I could jump around the web even faster.

thanks for posting this rh71. It works great...and it fixes some old problems with the companion toolbar (it would sometime lose focus when you would try to type something in the search box, etc)

and it's unusual for yahoo to actually tell you what they fixed from version to version....look at messenger, a new version every week, and it always looks the same :)

Get avant browser or MyIE2, if you don't like Mozilla/Firebird/Opera. But for God's sakes, don't use the standard IE!

I've been using Firebird at work for a week to test it out, and I am dissapointed. For all the aclaim it receives, it is still slower than IE (expecially on pages with a lot of graphics) and it loads slower. It doesn't view everything correctly, and it seems to time out more. Pop up blocking and tabbed browsing is pretty trivial as most other browsers include it already or can be easily modified to do so (crazy browser & googlebar in IE's case). Out of all of the browsers I've used, I would probably stick with Opera if it was free, but since it's not IE is second choice.
