Yahoo Anti-Spyware toobar: good or bad?

What do you guys think of the Yahoo toolbar with Anti-Spy?

How does it compare to standalones such as Spywareblaster and Ad-Aware?

Also, does it automatically update itself, or does protection occur only after you have manually updated the files and run a scan?

my guess is that the Yahoo toolbar is Yahoo spyware...stay away from it.

It works okay. I couldn't say with any degree of accuracy if it's better or worse than ad-aware but I never rely on a single anti-spyware program. You have to manually update and run a scan. Just download and try it. You can always remove it.

It's probably bloated and doesn't work well. I'd stick with the usual like Ad-Aware, Spybot, Microsoft AS, Spy Sweeper, Counter Spy, Spyware Doctor, etc. Also you may want to check out www.spywarewarrior.com for rogue anti-spyware software.

IMO any toolbar is just asking for trouble.
