My roommate bought an Olevia 232V on sale from Circuit City last week. Unfortunately, he's been plagued with quality control issues. The first set had horrible backlight issues and we returned it earlier today. The second exchange had several dead pixels right in the middle of the panel, so we brought that one back too.

We're now on the third set (and the last one they had) and everything looked great until we tried the component inputs, and it appears that the right audio input doesn't work :(. Now, the 3rd panel is beautiful (even backlight, etc) and would be worth keeping.

So the question is, is it silly to warranty a brand new set to get our sound issue repaired? I almost feel bad taking a 3rd set back to CC and asking for my money back, having already lead to 2 open box returns already.

being a circuit city employee, i say exchange, Use money to get something better, I used to work at office depot when we started carrying olevias, they are complete pos's. get a samsung, panny, or lg, maybe even jvc in this price range (polaroid is suprisingly not too crappy either).

I recommend This one

Find me a Samsung or LG > 32" for $540 and you've got a deal! Seriously though, anything besides an olevia/vizio/sceptre are probably out of his price range.

I'd return it and either get a refund or exchange it for a different model... in terms of high end electronics, I usually only give them one chance. if there's a problem with the original, I'll write it off as a random occurrence and get a replacement. if there's problems with the replacement as well, it's time to jump ship imo.

yeah, i had a friend with the same deal who wanted a nice lcd for dirt cheap, I tell them, either wait till you have the money to buy a good one, or finance it, 18 mo NI IIRC. I always buy to get the best bang for the buck, not the cheapest thing out there, mind you I am a long time ATHD and FW shopper.

Actually, part of the reason I supported buying this model is because it seemed like a lot of places out there (including avsforum) claim olevia as one of the best bang-for-your-bucks.
