Debating between:

Sony SXRD

this JVC Professional TV

No Mitsubishis (my uncle is fed up with them)..I'm wondering if I can get him to go for the 65" 1080p Panasonic plasma, but at almost the double the cost that might draw the line..what do y'all think? Thanks!

EDIT:

The 70" SXRD won't fit, and neither will the 60":
I am NOT going to reconfigure the walls so the opening at the top is 63" at the bottom is 62" (due to baseboard mldg....but this is affects the stand only) and the height is 61 1/2".

It does however appear that the 65" Panasonic 1080p plasma will fit. Is that the best 1080p set on the market? There's also a 60" Pioneer Elite plasma that "will accept 1080p/24Hz signal" -- does that mean it is truly 1080p?

out of those i'd definitely get the Sony SXRD.

but if it were up to me, i'd get this ...

Samsung 71" 1080p DLP

I have an older model 50" samsung DLP, my bro has that model above in 61", and my other friend has that same TV. the picture is just amazing on the TV.

Funny thing is I didn't even click OPs link. Turns out it's the same TV.

The color and blacks on this set are amazing. Approaches plasma quality.

Nonsense.

And I'd check them out in person if possible. I've heard a lot of good things about JVC, and they might be lighter on the wallet too.

Uhh, they're ok. Projection is OK, but that's a  in my book.

I'd take a Pioneer Elite 50" anyday over a larger crappier 60". Sorry.

I've taken a look at Sony's SXRD 60" before. It's nice, but not THAT nice.

Sony SXRDs are amazing. I was looking at them when I bought my plasma but didn't go for them because I wanted a flat panel. My next tv is gonna be a 70-75" projection tv for the home theatre.

1080p Projector FTW!

Not for a primary TV though, but I like the way you think.

I am never home during the day other than weekends and I am out on weekends, so projector makes sense to me. I usurped a 300 sqft bedroom for my home theatre :)

currently on Optoma HD72 shooting 92"
Will pick up a 1080p when this one's lamp goes.
