I need a suggestion for some headphones that are very good with bass and rap music. Preferable on a 6.3mm jack but certainly in no way has to be. Any suggestions?

I'm guessing you'll like a pair of AKG K81DJs, but only if you have a (relatively) small head. These things have a death grip on your head, and for some reason, AKG designed these headphones to extend to just the point where it ALMOST fits on my head.

I have no specific suggestions, but being accustomed to wearing com headsets on aircraft alot, I would pay more attention to sound proofing and comfort. The cheap headset, that I now have, does okay on incoming sound quality, but leaves alot to be desired in the previous catagories.

I got a pair of K81DJ's a few weeks ago and I have huge head, at first they were unbearable but after stretching the headband and armor-all-ing them (see below) they are now a great pair and I love them.

Armor-all-ing as posted by "Gaughtfried" on head-fi.org:

Sure. The Armor All I've been using is the type that comes from the bottle; nothing too fancy. I just pour some of it onto a cloth and wipe it on the pad's surface. The bottle says that untreated materials should be given 3 treatments roughly 1/2 an hour apart; it's actually pretty accurate. From there I've been going with daily treatments.

and a month and a half later:

Well, I stopped using armor all quite some time ago. After a week or two of daily applications, the changes in the pleather's texture became permanent. It's pretty comfy and doesnt turn my ears into a oven. Sometimes I still gloss them up as part of a cleaning regiment, but that's all. There isn't a loss in isolation at all. I applied the armor all by spraying some on a cloth and wiping that cloth on the pads while the pads where still on the headphones.

Alright then, I might just look into these and use some armor all. Last time I had asked I got the reply of HD595s. Are they still any good or for all intents and purposes will these do better?
