I'm one of the cool kids now  It's an AK47 not some pansy .22 or auto shotgun. Picked it up with 1100 rounds for $500 basically brand new.

Is it a real AK? Or is it one of the many many clones?

They are all AK's, just variants of them.

It looks like an SKS - Get rid of that dragunov style stock ASAP.

Good price, can you tell what the underlying rifle is?

Looks like a 40rd mag? Thing is long - Almost looks like a saiga 12 mag.

500 is a good price even if it is a crappy wasr-10 backbone. Wolf steel case costs 200 a case on a good day.

Edit: Here's my poopy AK - Sorry for the stock photo, my FFL still hasn't let me come get it yet.

Yea I'm not a big fan of the stock either. it's a 30rd clip I've also got a 10rd one but it looks retarded. I'm not sure about the underlying rifle, how would I be able to tell?

click on it, it gets bigger. I know it's a saiga AK-47 aside from that I'm not sure I'm guessing there are different base rifles that the AK can be built on. I really didn't do tons of research before I bought it.

Saiga is the underlying rifle. The saiga rifles really aren't bad and still run about 500 a pop for the rifle alone.

Saigas have to go through an importer though that makes them legal under the 922r thingymabobber.

heres another saiga converted by a company called peach state guns. This one has had several modifications (fore-rail, grip, stock, etc) going for $750

Saigas are probably the most russian variant that you can get anymore. There's Yugo's, Norincos (chinese), romanian, etc.

And Boomer, that is an awesome clip :awe:

I had some experience with the AK's once upon a time...little yellow motherfuckers were shooting them at us. :p

IMO, the original Russian-built Kalishnikov is by far superior to the Chinese or other variants. More accurate, better built, more reliable...but dammed difficult to get, and VERY expensive when you find one.

Truer words were never spoken. I don't think I've seen a true kalishnikov at any of the gun shows I've been to, and they have everything. Last trip there was a fully titanium AR lower receiver, one of like 5 ever made.

You can have your AKM any day, I prefer the AK-74 with the Soviet 5.45x39mm "poison bullet" round. Love firing my rifle, there is hardly any kick or recoil, but loud for a round that small.

Haha, got it from my little brother. He just got it in January but needed money for school so I decided to take it off his hands. I don't think he paid much more than 500 for the gun new. Ordered it from a local gun shop.

Welcome fellow AK owner. I own an Arsenal myself. Fun gun to shoot for sure. Try the thumb rock if you can find a range near you that allows rapid fire.

welcome to the FBI watch list. enjoy your stay.

nice rifle tho.

Not registered to me, KS doesn't or at least last year when I checked didn't require any sort of registration change if you bought from an individual. :awe: I'm sure they're trolling ATOT tho
