Maybe Bulgarian. There is tons of surplus 7.62x54R floating around out there.

Was it a short rifle or long rifle?

The one's with shorter bores will usually display a nice powder burnoff.😀

Yellow 7.62x54R is heavy ball. Higher gr bullet
