This thing can pick flys off a post at 100 yards. Wondering how to identify it. I won't let it out of the family, as it was passed down to me.

I'm having a hard time finding any unique markings on it. Wood stock. Only markings are on the barrel....

Made in New Haven, Conn.
U.S of America
Model 74-
22 L.Rifle-

I don't care too much about what it's worth, more about finding more info about it from a historical perspective.

WHOAH!

Thanks for the post. Are you telling me this heirloom was made in 1939?
I wouldn't be surprised - It was my great uncle's rifle and he passed it on to me. I will keep it deeply clutched into my family. This thing will stay in the family.

I'm serious though - this thing can has a barrel that you wouldn't believe. The stock looks like it was made by hand. You actually feed the rounds into the stock. There is a spring loaded (whatever you call it). This is the rifle that me and my cousins learned on.

Rest in piece Spec. Thank You.
