Oh c'mon guys, you just need to accept that women have different needs and you DO need to sacrifice some of your time and energy to make any relationship work. Both people need to make sacrifices to make the other happy... if you think it's only right to satisfy yourself / make decisions that are best for yourself and not best for the couple, then you don't deserve a wife / SO anyway.

I don't blame you though, you're a victim of the media and capitalism. You've been tought that it's ok and even good to make decisions for your own personal gain and being selfish / greedy is acceptable and giving up valuable time of building computers or working on cars is not an option when your SO wants to go shopping.

What happened bud? (BTW, my statement was directed towards you or the other guy, it's towards my brother). My brother is 23 years old and has never maintained a steady relationship. He goes out and drinks with his buddies and talks about how I'm whipped all the time because I go shopping with my fiancee, spend money and time on her, etc. He explains that he will never been in a relationship with a girl if he has to sacrifice his time on the computer / car etc... his money is his money, hers is hers and he won't ever take any crap from a girl.

And then wonders why he can't find a good girlfriend. It's because he hangs around with his drinking buddies and they trash talk good relationships. He is looking for a whore I guess... he gets to play his computer games / drink with friends and then have sex with a companion at the end of the night....

I'm about the least selfish person you'll ever meet, and that's the trouble; you give your all and it's not reciprocated. I honestly don't think I could handle a(nother) betrayal after putting forth so much effort.

Descartes, and to be completely honest with you... I'd feel the same way if I ever break it off with my fiancee. I've put so much time and effort into her over the past 3 years... if it all came tumbling down at some point and I'd say fvck and be single for a loooong time. Save money, lots of time to kill, etc.
