YAGT: why do indian parents have to be so retarded?

So your parents want you to go to med school instead of dental school since dental school is difficult to get accepted into? Yeah, whatever. Medical school (the average US one) is 100x harder to get accepted into than dental school.

I suggest you to do the following:
1. Ask your parents to buy you a video card
2. When they say no, which they most certainly will, cry about it like half of this board did when they were young.
3. Run away because they didn't give you a video card.
4. Live on the streets to show them that they must give you a video card if they want any respect from you.

All kidding aside, it sounds like your parents are even more over protective than lots of Indian parents. Just go behind their back! 😉

Live by the laws of this land - date behind there back, IM people, go to whatever fvcking school you want to and do what you want to do to be happy... It's your life - they should guide you but they can't control you kiddo....

Dude, I was suicidally depressed because I was dealing with my indian parents - high school was torture until I realized that it's my life and not theirs.. IM me or PM me here...Be responsible, get good grades, date girls (or guys if that's what makes you happy) and just ignore their b.s.- they chose to come to this country and can't expect you to live under the rules of theirs (actually, indians in india date and have healthy social lives..)

u'll have the title "dr" (pharm D), make 80k+ right out of skool (nyc),
and pay off yr loans faster (doubt u need it as yr dad is a doc), still have yr youth,
and start partyin when you're 23 (vs 33 yo lookin 50 from the 80hr slave labor shifts)

As I tell mine, you can do what you want when you pay the bills, until such time, I'm giving a strong social and eduational base so you don't come knocking on my door at 25.

I'm assuming you are in the US. if you can financially do it, leave at 16 and be on your own. get your own apt, etc. yeah, that means u have to quit school, since you probably have to work during school hrs. but it aint that bad. at 18, get you GED. then goto community college.

if you can't be financially independent, then shut up and stop complaining. it's their house, their food, etc.

btw- if u decide if YOU do want to goto med school, dentristy isnt that great. people have better teeth now than 20 years ago.

I know what you mean...I'm also indian and I'm 15 to. And my paretns are doing the samething with what they want me to do. Right now I'm at a Votech high school going in the computer engineering feild but from what they want me to do is bussiness when I get to college. I know bussiness is a good feild because they own many different places, but I don't think I would be happy in it. Same thing with the girl thing they are crazy man I can't stand it....
