It's gone to idiots who are hoarding/don't shoot/bubbas who are reselling them for extra profit because everyone is acting like a moron right now.

I have a few thousand rounds of ammo and haven't been to the range for a few months...It's sad :(.

I don't want to shoot what I have, and the guns that I actually want to shoot I can't find ammo for. Namely .308 and 9mm.

So, I've been to multiple stores over the past 2-3 months and there hasn't been a single box of rimfire or centerfire ammo to be found. Not even frickin' .22LR. Online I'm seeing boxes of crappy Federal (normally about $15-18) going for $45. Why the heck is going on? I can at least comprehend people stockpiling 7.63 or 5.56, but .22LR...really?

I can't go the range because there isn't any ammo and I won't pay more than $20 for a box of 500 22LR. Stop stockpiling people! They aren't taking our guns, especially not our .22s.

I say, people stop spending all your money on guns and ammo and take your family on a vacation instead. There is no Zombie invasion, and the UN NWO forces are not coming.

I'll take my family to the gun range for some weekend fun thank you...we'll also be spending a week on the coast in a condo enjoying the beaches and the sun as well...so gee, I guess I just have it all then:colbert:

Actually i'll wait until reloading stuff is available. I like precision target shooting and you can't do that with FMJ.

Green tip or any mil ammo is good for < 4 MOA. That's soda cans, heads, and hearts at 100 yards.

If I need more than that the AR/AK is the wrong gun. Ill pull out my M1A then after that my hand built bull barrel 300 Win Mag Remington 700.

125 gr Nosler @ 3850 fps ftw

My local WalMart has 12ga 00 buck in stock, tons of 20ga, and also .30-06, .270, 28ga, and .380. They had some .45 but it was spendy ($45 for 100rds). No .22, .223, .40, 9mm..

Not if you keep it all. :p

heh gun hoarders are probably actively avoiding shotguns due to Biden.

AIM but yeah SMG is another place that is good and hasn't been trying to rip people off through all this.
Evidence that things are returning to normal...AIM still has that ammo in stock right now as well as Troy AR-15 BattleMags

What? AIM doesn't have any Wolf in stock right now, 556 or 762.

It will still be ass for a little while longer. With limited stocks just starting to trickle again, reseller asshats will still be trying to hoard everything in sight and control supplies while they can to keep the panic going for as long as possible.

You got it. I went to gunbroker and right there amongst the ammo ads, was an informational banner stating that "ammo will be taxed so high the common man can't afford it" In other words, they are holding onto this supply issue as long as possible and doing everything they can to scare folks into buying from them. Sad thing is, people actually pay those prices from these people.
Lots of ammo in stock now on various online stores. The prices just remain high, but that will change.

That's the sad truth, personally I've kept a list of places that are raping people right now and I won't ever do business with them in the future

Its easier to the memorize the few who aren't doing it than to keep a list all all who are.

Btw Cabelas just had 100 rds Rem 115gr fmj 9mm for $29 and up to 5 boxes per customer.

I'm holding out for HST at the LGS here. Just need enough to test reliability in the PF9 for EDC.

A little more than Wally's price but not bad, no Cabela's near me though...I'll be in Wichita the beginning of next month and will check the store there while I'm in town, could get lucky

Panic buying. Unless you think DHS is buying deer slugs.

Walked past the ammo cabinet in Walmart this past weekend and the only ammo was shot shells. ALL bullets of all calipers were gone even those little .17hmr things. All that was in stock was 20 gauge of various kinds and the only 12 gauge were 3.5" nitro for turkeys and 100 she'll boxes of cheap skeet shells. Literally nothing else of any sort.

If people are shooting less and obviously manufacturers are at full capacity eventually supply will catch up and glut the market.

You should have been there at 7am like the real "enthusiasts" lol

It's starting to get back to normal, another 6 months or so and I think there will be ammo on the shelves between trucks again

talked to my dad a little bit ago. there's a guy that has an ad in the local classifieds, selling bricks of .22 lr for $75 a brick. Apparently he has over 14,000 rounds.
If people are stupid enough to buy it at that price they deserve to be ripped off...I hate people like that though, guy probably doesn't even own a .22:hmm:

I hope no one buys his stuff and he's stuck with all of it.

The problem is, EVERY store is either wiped out of the common calibers or essentially wiped out. The manufacturers are pumping them out as fast as they can, but when the suppliers are rationing it out to fulfill orders for EVERY store, stores are only getting a few boxes at a time, and when jackasses that camp out at gun stores snatch up the only 5 boxes of 9mm that the store got in it prolongs this issue.

I just want to go shooting, it used to be if I wanted to go shooting I could drive to wal-mart buy what I want and head to the range. Now I have to hope that when midway sends me the in stock email I'm close to a computer to order it in the 60 second window that its available.

Today, the ammo fairy delivered:

1350rds Tula 7.62x39
180rds Tula .223
120rds PMC 5.56
500rds CCI Standard Velocity
375rds CCI AR Tactical

The Tula 7.62x39 was my best score @ 20 cents/round, which is less than what I paid last November.

There is no shortage ;)

Today I was able to get 5 boxes of twenty .223 69gr match hollow points from Cabelas for about $12per box ($.60/rd). It was sold out in less than 5 minutes.
