YAGT: What's a good place to buy diamond studs (earrings)?

So I gotta do some xmas shopping for the girlfriend ... so I need a pair of diamond earrings. Any ideas ? I've checked outpost.com already and they've got some, but nothing amazing.

Don't get diamonds. They're amazingly overpriced, and the corruption behind them is also amazing.

costco had some random deal this past week, but other than that they only have huuuge/expensive pieces. I think whole carat would look way big (think kanye west) on her ears.

Not really. You can get something like this
or this.

Total weight is one carat which mean .5 carat for one. My wife has round cut one carat and it doesn't look big at all.

I meant 1/2 carat total weight - she just wants a casual pair (so .25ct a piece)
