YAGT: what does this mean?

there's this really sweet nice girl at school who I've liked for a while and I think she's been giving me signs, but I hadn't made any real moves yet. Today, she said as though she was reluctant and just worked up the courage, "Will you be my valentine?" and for the rest of the day she was waiting outside my classes and wanting to hug and cuddle and stuff. After school I tried to walk and talk with her a little and she was suddenly different, seemed sort of uninterested and shy and when we departed, she said "Thanks for being my valentine for a day."
What does it all mean?!? I got my hopes all up thinking she and I both had feelings for each other and we both knew them.

If you've never had to post one of these, you don't really NEED to know what it is. You just need the terrorist survival kit. I think PAB has a picture of that one.

Yeah, just ask her what's up. Find out once and for all. She took the iniative. Even if it was to have a valentine for a day, as long as you find out from her, you won't waste your time later.

I like the idea of asking *her* what it means, but I know in previous YAGT's people have recommended not actually discussing the relationship with the girl because that might ruin things. This girl's a good friend so I don't want to mess that up. Then again I'm willing to take a chance if it means she might become more than just a friend.

Heres what I think.

1) she has some wild idea in her head of what you would be like on a date, what you would do and how great of a time it would be. There is no way you can measure up to this standard unless you are a superhero and your superpower is mind reading and shuper carisma/charm.

2) you didn't measure up, so now she has to find someone else to build up to impossible proportions.


you can ask her out on a date. She might give you another chance but not expect anything. this is your chance to surprise her. don't screw up.
