Ahh, picked up another gun today. This time, a nice FAL .308 with a 20 inch barrel, all black with a bi-pod and 20 round mags. Slightly used, but I got it for the cheap at 700 bucks. Can't beat that, now can you? I dont have pics, as my camera is dead at the moment, but here is what it looks like, minus the collapsible stock.

Anyway, Just thought I'd brag. Probably gonna take it out to the range in July.

I love the FN-Fal. "Right Arm of the Free World." Israelis threw out the howling savages with it, the Australians shot commies with it, British shot Argentinan interlopers with it, and overall, scared the shit out of the Russians.

Too bad its original round was canceled and it had to use the .308, but either way, it's a sweet gun.

.308 will still reach out and touch someone without a problem. Those poor zombies won't know what hit them...when they get closer, I'll switch to my AK and then my handguns. I think a decent shotty will be next...or a BMG. I can't decide.

Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet (damn rain). That scope is temporary (although it looks pretty badass on there). I also have a bipod, front grip, and a laser/light combo on order to mount on it.

Man I love the .308, but it is oh so pricey (unless you buy the russian junk).

It's probably a CAI (Century International Arms) built FAL. They can usually be found around that price without much trouble.

I really need a .308, just not sure what. Originally I was going to get a JLD PTR but the fluted chambers treat brass like 2 doller hookers. I like the 308 rifles on the AR platform and much like the smaller 5.56 platform theres some aftermarket caliber conversions available.

Decisions decisions.

Anyways, nice rifle. FAL's are a sweet thing.

Please tell me how a gun like the OP posted every be necessary. A lower powered handgun could defend your home just as well IMHO.
