just called these stores, and all are out of gas. well, not all, but those within reasonble driving distance. i have less than 1/4 tank left. ive been trying to conserve, so i havent rode around looking since most lines are 50+ cars long and an hour wait. ive been hoping to get lucky and find one with a short line on the way to work, but that hasnt, and doesnt look like its going to, happened.

id like to personally thank all the fvcktard panicking sheep rushing out to fill up 200 gallons worth of tanks you selfish bastards. hopefully the local govt will step up and ration the gas so everyone can at least have a shot to get enough to go to work and to the grocery store. fvckers.

bahahahaha.

over in North Seattle, I live near 5 gas stations!!! HAHAHAHAHAHHA... all in walking distance too.
And they don't have a big line at all.

Edit: you know what's weird?
There are more gas stations here than McDonalds and Starbucks...
WOW.

used to only be 1 mile. restaurant i manage had a fire, in rebuilding stage, so i had to take another job rather than file for unemployment. no use in mooching when i can work. new job is 18mi round trip. still a pretty short commute, but it might as well be 500 if there is no gas to be found.

ive seen it every day since a week before katrina hit. gas has been spotty since then, and totally random and short lived since katrina tore up no. people filling up a truck bed full of 5 gal tanks.....

You know what's messed up--I go to school in Louisiana, just drove back here from Georgia after the labor day weekend, and noticed that Atlanta has more out-of-stock gas stations than Baton Rouge, Mississippi, and Alabama combined (at least the parts I went through).

It's cheaper out here, too.

I'm on such a fixed income that when gas goes over $4, I probably won't be able to afford the commute.... mabye I should have done this....

supposedly we get shipments in on a daily basis. i hear on local radio lists of stations that have it, but most are in pensacola with long lines. by the time i get there and wait in line, the chances of any gas left are slim to none. enough that i cant take the risk of wasting what gas i have just to go riding around looking.

for some reason our town of pace, just across the bay, is having trouble getting any gas.

thats the current plan. most stations get shipments in around 2-3am from what ive noticed. but if i guess wrong and come up empty, ive just wasted most of my gas on a goose chase.

wow, I hope you are joking. you sound unbelievably dumb(at least in an economics sense).

Nixon tried rationing and failed MISERABLY in the 70's.

what are other solutions to stop the lucky few who get in line in time from hoarding the gas? there are already lines and shortages, so i dont really see how setting a cap of say, 20 gallons per customer, is going to make it any worse for anyone. right now to get gas you have to be at the right place at the right time just to have a chance.

im only 31, so no i dont remember the rationing of the 70s(too young at the time). im also not an expert in economics, but if you have any other ideas, feel free to share and ill forward them along to our local officials.

it may sound dumb to you, but until youre here dealing with it.....

Well you know what? these people have gas and you dont. lol

how much are you getting charged for gas if all these stations are running out? Price has stayed mostly steady at 3.29 since a couple days after the hurricane.

it's averaging ~2.70 here in MN. about 2 days after the storm hit, gas dropped .45 and has been holding there.

no shortages here that I know of, but in some places there are people waiting in line.
