Sometimes she would ask me out and pay or would simply grab the bill to pay (after she figured out how little money I had (she comes from money)).

that's the dumbest suggestion yet. maybe you lucked out, but like hell if I'm going into debt just dating a girl. if who I might be dating has the mindframe the guy is suppose to pay for everything... pft

Having had 3 previous girlfriends who rarely could pay for anything, I can say I'd rather go into debt and pay for everything than never go out and just stare at the ceiling, which is the other alternative when dating grad students or med students.

Thank her for the offer, but turn it down. However, if she insists, then just take the money. (If things work out with this girl, it will all even out in the end, anyway.)

Oh, BTW, do not ever ask her to pay for anything. If she offers, turn her down (unless she insists - don't make a scene about it). Otherwise, be a man about it and pay for everything.

It will all work out but I think it is a good start for the guy to open doors for the girl and pay the bill.

That must've been funny. I can see the conversation now...

Her: This is a nice car.
Him: Thanks, but it's not mine. It actually belongs to the chick I was banging before you.

She knew whose car I was going to borrow before our first date (We ran in all the same circles before we dated). After a couple dates, she said we could just take her car, but I could drive.

I was already in debt, so it did not make a big dif to me. Seems like spending an extra $20 or $30 to impress a girl you like enough to ask out is a small price to pay.

Wow, nice hypnotism trick there or whatever. I have only let two people drive my car other than myself, both girlfriends. One almost got into an accident and the other did fine. I hate having to re-adjust my seat and mirrors to the right position. Of course, the irony is that the chick who almost got into an accident was the safest driver, maybe just a little nervous or didn't adjust the mirrors properly.
