I know asking ATOT for girl help may be futile, but i am desperate!

I live in Southern California, Orange County.

I next weekend I want to plan a surprise romantic getaway for me and my girl....she's been really depressed lately since her mom passed away about 2 months ago, and I figured it would be nice to get her out of the house and away from everything for a couple days.

So what can i do?

Vegas is not an option.....we're going later in Oct.

I was thinking of Catalina...

but any other ideas?

I'd like to keep the costs low, under $800 for the entire weekend.

I'm not adverse to flying us out somewhere jsut for the weekend either. 😀

But help me ATOT!!!!!

Heh, I went to Disneyland with my girl a few weeks ago. This was our first getaway together. 🙂
Anything is good really. Just have a good time.

$800? man, I wouldn't even spend more than $40 on a single girl.

Sorry, this is not a constructive post. But I am allowed 🙂

danny~!

$800 for the whole weekend for 2? tough. you can't fly far then. find a national park in driving range that she hasn't been to.

ew, don't do yosemite. well, i'm not an outdoors person. catalina sounds good. mini cruise to mexico? or just get a room in downtown LA and show her a "good time". at least the views are nice.

well, we are going to vegas in Oct, and then to Hawaii in Dec....
so maybe a local shindig is better.

and DannyLove, my chick is basically gonna be my wife. i just have to get off my ass and buy her a ring. haha

Catalina is good. Decent hotels, some nice restaurants and things to do with the feel of being far from home. Not that expensive either. I spent around 450 for a 3 day 2 night stay. Snorkling is nice, and kayaking around the island is nice too.

Some of the tours were lame though.

Go dayhike Mt. Whitney. It's not a bad hike for beginners and the view at the top will make you sh!t your pants.

got any advice on where to find deals or where to stay?

Thanks. 😀

Take her where you used to go when you had just met, a five star hotel room, treat her like you did when you had just met.

People always think that the place is special, it isn't it is the person and the situation.

Give her a weekend where you give all you have to give her, spend your love, time, attention on her and only on her, if the dinner isn't perfect, don't complain about it just realize that you are happy to be there with her, make that the priority, you and her, nothing else matter.

This could be done anywhere, even in your own home town, the important thing is you, her and your love, shower her with your love.

I just got one of those packages off of www.catalina.com. I stayed at Hotel St. Lauren. If you're bringing a lot of luggage, get a golf cart. I lugged both my and my lady friend's luggage about half a mile, with half of that being uphill to the St. Lauren. Nicehotel, but don't expect anything vegas level.

Also met and made friends with a couple staying at the Atwater. It wasn't a very nice place, but served its purpose if you're there to do other stuff.

Don't have any experience with the other hotels.
