YAGT: She likes me... plays hard to get...

I'm not sure if you guys have experience with this or not but anyhoo....

My friend's wife (who is always looking for me to have a girlfriend so she has "couple" friends) introduced me to this girl that I met in passing at a party. She was asking about me, so my friend's wife set up a double date with her, my friend (her hubby), this girl and me.

That date went well but my friends wound up talking the entire time, so I asked out this chick again so we could go alone. We had dinner and caught a movie -- Disturbia. I liked it, by the way. We had a good conversation and she had a good time. I was getting out of the car to drop her off and she leaned over and gave me a hug -- kinda got pre-empted there 😛

Anyhoo... I just get the feeling like I'm doing all the work. I know she likes me because she told my friend's wife that she had a really good time with me. But at the same time, I hate doing all the chasing after -- it gets annoying. I am wondering if I should just mention that I'm not into the games, and if she's interested that it's a two way street.

Any opinions are appreciated... Normally girls I go out with will call me once or twice if they are interested, this girl is playing hard to get. Just curious if anybody's been in the situation and how they handled it. The girl is really pretty, and seems to have a good head on her shoulders so I'm definitely interested, I just don't like mind games.

1) A movie (at a theater) is a horrible first/second date since it allows for no talking/chatting/whatever. Take her out to coffee, or even better - if you're comfortable w/ it at this point - invite her to cook dinner together. (i.e. go to the store together, cook, dessert, etc).. allows 2-3 hours of conversation.

2) Let her call you. You invited her to the last date, wait 6-7 days and if you don't hear from her then possibly call her.. but give it some time first.

3) Now sure how she's playing hard to get or games. She seems normal to me.

Girls want what they can't have. Make her think she can't have you.. and she'll want you. It's illogical, but that's how a vagina reasons.

She's Pakistani (me too)... drinks and dancing are a no-no unless I want to end it really fast 😛

Dinner and movies seemed to be a simple bet and besides, I suck at, and hate dancing.

Why not just have a conversation about it? Don't give her that crap about games - too confrontational. Just ask her if she's interested, and if she says yes, then talk about expectations.

Something like that 😛

I dunno I just get frustrated fast... you're probably right, and that I'm reading into it too much. I'll keep talking and see what happens. I was going to use the "Oh it was Mother's Day and I know you were busy" when I call her back tonight 🙂

I don't understand how she's playing hard to get. How often do you call her? I would just call her to setup the next date and wouldn't expect to hear from her randomly between then and whenever the next date is.

this is ATOT - where people think the female cashier at McDonalds is playing hard to get because she asked him if he wanted fries with that.

hahahaha, so true.

OP, take it easy and don't read so much into nothing.

Next date don't do a movie. Do something instead where you can spend more time talking with and getting to know her. Bowling, miniature golf, something like that.

Take her out with you on errands. Meet her at a place, like downtown. Check out a few stores, grab a quick coffee, go here, go there, always on YOUR schedual not hers. Make it fun and fast paced. Make sure you end the date/time spent and not her. Ask her if she wants to go somewhere in a few days.

YOU MUST BE THE ALPHA MALE, YOU MUST BE IN CONTROL. TEACH THIS WOMAN RESPECT! IF SHE DOES NOT FOLLOW, BANISH HER TO SERVE IN THE TEMPLE!!!

Playing "hard to get" is the oldest trick in the book. Turn tables on her and "drop out". If she was truly interested you'll hear from her very shortlt. It never fails.

Tricksy cashier, she hurts us!

Asking a bunch of Americans there thoughts and then telling us you abide by some weird muslim shia sunni rules/laws is not fair.

How can I give you advice when the number one rule of dating is alcohol, all dates must be centered around alcohol.

2nd rule, some form of intimacy by the 3rd date or there will not be a 4th.

Sounds like you are hunting for a bride, not trying to get effed.

She may need time to realize that on her own, or you could just talk to her about it sometimes and lay it out there. Chances are she is distant because she doesn't want to commit to something until you figure out what type of relationship it is. If you don't talk to her about it, then she will probably just keep her distance. But if you say you like her a lot and want to keep going out and ask her to call you whenever she has some free time, then maybe she will respond. 🙂

This is why I stick with white and spanish women. Much more straight-forward and lax.

I tried dating girls of my background.... doesn't work since all of them are conservative teases. End up never having a 'good' time.

Damn you Indian culture!
