10,000th post.

...oh...something gun-related...

...you guys are making me want a 1911. But I'd just get one made by Turks or Filipinos. Damn richie-riches.

But they aren't the same price. The Filipino 1911's are half the cost.

Academy Sports has the Citadel 1911 9mm on sale for $329.99, right now.

Who makes Citadel? Is it Armscorp? Or Metro? Would have to be one of those, I'd think.

I just can't fathom paying $900+ for this:
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/..._id/36291/Colt+1991+Government+.45acp+5"+Blue

instead of of $400 for an RIA. OMG, but it's so cheap and flimsy! ...no, it's really not. Colt it not being any more precise or high tech for that extra money. Shit, look at how trick an RIA you can get for STILL just 2/3's the price of the rock bottom Colt:
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/...+Island+Armory+51485+TAC+2011+VZ+8+1+45ACP+5"

Or if their CZ clones are any indicator, you just can't beat the Turks. I've heard lots of mixed stuff about their 1911's...but then again, a few years ago, you heard the same shit about the stuff from the Phillipines that is now almost universally praised as being excellent. Maybe roll the dice on one of these:

I finished up building my 1st AR last night. (still needs sights and optics) Probably gonna go MBUS Pros and co-witness with a Primary Arms M4 Clone. Can't wait to get out to the range and run some ammo through it!

Not often I find a AR pleasing to the eye, but you did a really good job with this one. Well done.

Just got this guy for myself yesterday. Curious why she went with the 238 over the 938, given the negligible difference in size (0.4" length) and weight (0.8 oz), given that 9mm offers double the muzzle energy (plus the near universal availability and variety of ammunition). The 938 doesn't offer the admittedly cool Pearl finish, though.

But with Glock jumping on the .380ACP bandwagon, that might change things.

That looks nearly identical to my 938:awe:

And the recoil was why she went with the 238, borrowed one from a friend and there is a significant difference compared to mine, and I'm not worried about ammo, it's been available online in bulk a ton of places pretty reliably, I'll have a couple thousand rounds in my safe in the next couple weeks...just need to decide on what SD round to buy for her to carry

I have a question: Is there anything out there in generic 'wonder nine' format with a trigger that rivals the Walther PPQ? I hear it's the best striker fire trigger, hands down, and I believe it. But are there SA/DA's with a similarly light pull and short reset?

Just looking for another generic range gun, maybe. The other day at the range I dumped 100 rounds of 9mm in like 15 minutes (they were closing) and I found myself feeling that two seconds to drain a mag was just too long. :awe:

My issue with the p938 is that it carries noticeably different due to the grip area being thicker. And the p938 is too large for comfortable pocket carry. A .5" here and there really adds up. Also the weight difference is very obvious when they're both loaded.

Ammo is a valid concern. But I don't live in an area where people wear thick outwear. I feel completely safe with either hornady CD during the summer and buffalo bore +p in the winter.

To me, the ammo choices are worth it for a gun that is primarily for deep concealment.

For .380 Auto, your only good options are Critical Defense, Gold Dot, or RangerT/PDX1.

Buffalo bore +p runs very well through the p238 for SD purposes. I wouldn't use it with a LCP or p3at, or put more than enough rounds through it show it feeds reliably, but it's a valid option.

I like the 238 for general shooting. Its smooth and reliable and handles well. Breaks down easy for cleaning.
But it has junk all over the sides, I wouldnt like drawing from my pocket in a tense situation. My LCP is smooth and comes out nicely.

Having a hard time deciding on my next piece. If you guys didnt have a 12ga but would like a long arm with ammo unity with an owned pistol would you still get the 12ga or a Sub 2000 .40?
