For that matter you could even look at the Canik line too since they are basically CZ clones...I'm waiting for the Shark's to come back in stock myself:awe:

http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/21_1199/Handguns/CANIK

The Caniks are priced perfectly reasonably, but if you want it a) now and b) cheaper, look at 'Tristar' at Academy. Exact same guns, Canik 55 stampings, but the Shark is called the T-120 and a Shark-C is a T100. Normal price on the latter is 350 but I've seen them for 320 or 330. Highly recommend them for the price, nearly regardless of the criteria. If, however, your criteria is 'best bang for the buck alloy-framed CZ-75 clone,' then not purchasing a Tristar would make oneself quite the silly goose.

Interesting...but for once I'm going to go for something other than the basic black, I'm really looking at the cerakote titanium or dessert tan models...but I'm also curious, is the tristar compensated as well?

I played with one, almost bought an upper. Fun little gun, but at the time 5.7mm ammo was impossible to find, and the mags were crazy expensive for a 50 round one (the 30 rounders were a little better...)

Decent lower made by them (the company is not far from me, in Bellevue, WA) and the upper felt decent. Don't expect the gun to be useful beyond 100 yards.

Cut the feed lips off a stanag AR15 magazine and it'll catch your brass (it ejects rounds through the mag well)

To the reloaders: Where do you guys buy your reloading supplies (bullets, powder, primers, etc)? If online, could you point me to a couple of recommended sites?

Thanks!

Finally got my new pistol on Thursday: S&W M&P9c.

Almost didn't buy it. Went to a new store that's also getting the first public indoor range in the county. Pretty good pricing and they have a great SD ammo stock (Federal HST, Speer Gold Dot, Hornady Critical Duty/Defense), and they had the 9c on their Black Friday special at $439 (safety version only). Tried the trigger on one...not a bad DAO. Pulled the slide to try the reset and OMFGMUSHY. The break was barely perceptible and really spongy. Tried some of the others on my list like the SIG P250 (clean trigger but REALLY LONG reset), Px4 Storm compact (good feel but don't like their safety setup) and subcompact (felt too chunky for its size) and the XDm 3.8 (which I already liked but didn't want to spend that much yet). Mulled over a bit then asked to try the 9c without a safety ($30 more). Huh...trigger reset break was much better on that one. Got one for about $470 along with 100 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass and 40 of the HST.

Also seeing how well HDR works on the newly-installed Android 4.4.2 with my Nexus 4...not too shabby for the gun porn:

Starline brass is pretty good.
You can buy a lot of reloading stuff from hornady directly, but just seach online as well. The main issue a few months ago wasn't finding it cheap, it was finding it. Dunno how reloading is fairing a year after sandy hook...

Midway USA, Natchez, X-Treme Bullets, Rocky Mountain Reloading, Diamond K Brass, Dardas Cast Bullets, are a few I've used.

If you buy primer or powder online you have to pay a hazmat fee on the shipping (flat $28 fee for up to 50 lbs, IIRC) so you have to do very large orders to make it worthwhile... my reloading volume is still fairly small so I'm just buying those locally.

WTF does reloading have to do with Sandy Hook?

Add Powder Valley, Missouri Bullet Co, Cabelas, Midsouth Shooter Supply, and theres a couple more i cant remember the names of.

Also check gun forums that are local to you. Can often find deals there. THeres usually some powder and primers on the ones near me. And brass is fairly common for once fired stuff

For powder...its pretty much buy whatever you can find still where i live. I have a decent supply and some back orders so im not to bad off.

Bullets come and go. Some you will have trouble finding but for the most part there are plenty of options and most are in stock.

Primers...for bulk i havent had luck (well havent looked either), but can also walk in the LGS and buy a box of 1k so it isnt to bad.

WTF does reloading have to do with Sandy Hook?

Are you serious? There wasn't a major caliber bullet on the shelf for months following Sandy Hook and you think that wouldn't have any effect on reloading supplies?

You could have sold a picture of bullets for $100 following Sandy Hook, so you shouldn't be too surprised that reloading components would also be scarce.

no...I have never not been able to buy the ammo I wanted. Why would Sandy Hook create that?

I guess I don't understand these things because they haven't affected me at all.

So you just had so much ammo stockpiled that you never tried to buy any in the last year...

I do have a bit of a back stock
Buy my local gun store always has ammo in stock. The pic I shot at that Walmart last month was the first time I had ever witnessed the ammo shortage in person.

Update: As ya'll know, I had some issues with the Winchester 9 mm ammo in bulk white box of 100 (1 deform at the neck, 19 of rusty cases). Pics = http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost.php?p=35507707&postcount=6039

Today I just received a check for $35 and a code for 20% off of anything in Winchester online store. I sent back the bad ones and kept the good ones (about 80 left). The odd thing is the check is not from Winchester but Repco Logistics, Inc.

Not too shabby.

Since the "Great Ammo Shortage of 2013", I now have a significant back stock as well:) But I suppose I could have found ammo at a local gun store as well anytime if I was prepared to pay their astronomical prices, I just wasn't that desperate
