YAGT: OMG I love guns

Well, I got my Taurus 92AF back. The repair work said there was a few faulty and weak springs in it. How does a new gun have weak springs??? Oh well. I'll put it through the range this weekend and see if the trigger reset problem is fixed.

*ahem*

Because it's Taurus.

It's yet another dumb, meaningless, politicized study. Frankly I'd like to read it. I know for a fact that Utah and Vermont have some of the loosest gun laws and some of the lowest murder rates, so...

Besides, so long as we're doing correlation = causation (which is what that study is trying to imply), then why do cities with the strictest gun control have the highest murder rates? Why does the locality matter if it's a state, but not a city?

Stupid study is stupid.

Well i know it was brought up earlier about Are Armor in CA. They do 80% lowers and you "finish" them. So I find myself her in San Diego and they are all of an hour away. Perfect i thought. Well turns out the machine shop portion of their operation is closed for the next month to "update" things.

So goes my plan to pick up 2 lowers that are unserialized >.<

Got my PT111 Mil Pro back from Taurus. They had to replace the grip frame entirely. Badly machined grip frame was the reasoning I was given for my magazine and accuracy problems. Hopefully it all works okay now.

Wow, that's crazy. Never would have thought it was that. Not gonna lie, I'm hesitant to try Taurus.

Shit happens. I probably have the same thing going on with my Ruger. I know that duds from the factory occur, and I just probably was unlucky for those firearms. That isn't a big deal to me. It's if they FIXED them properly or not now that will determine my true feelings about the company and their products. I'll be using these at the range tomorrow. If they work flawlessly then I'll be happy. If not.....

thermold mags get a lot of bad reviews, so much so that people call them thermelts....

and 23 a mag for shitty mags is way to much.

I agree. I picked up a bunch of Tapco mages for $15 each from Academy over a few days. I also got a bunch of promags as well for $13 a pop. I also got a bunch of the aluminum promags for $11 a pop. I still also have the Troy battle mags I got for $9 a pop.

I mentioned earlier a LGS is having a 3 day sale starting today.

Got there about 9:40 (store opened at 10) and there was already a line. My dad and I were about 50 people in. People were parking all over the place - in the grass, on the shoulder of the road, etc.

Got in and started looking for the .45 and 9mm on sale. Didn't find it right away but did find they had a decent stock of 5.56 and .223. Grabbed 5 boxes of federal xm193 (cheapest brand and limited to 5 boxes of that caliber) for $9.99 a box.

Dad found the 9mm and .45 so I grabbed the limit of 3 boxes of each.

Store was getting packed with people. I then found they had small ammo cans of different ammo with 200 rds each. pretty much all of it was $99.99. Grabbed a can of .223.

Found the Troy battle mags but since I already had $250 worth of ammo I skipped it. Already have over 20 AR-15 mags anyway.

They actually had a decent amount of the 9mm and .45 sale ammo. At least 20 1000 rd boxes each. The 9mm was down to like 1.5 cases and then .45 was about 14 cases when we went to check out.

This is a 3 day sale, so either they had more in the back or they under-estimated the interest.

They had much more pistol and rifle ammo than places like Gander Mtn or Bass Pro and cheaper too.

My dad decided to look around a bit but I stood to one side and waited for him as I pretty much hit my spending limit for now. He didn't find anything else he wanted.

The checkout line was pretty long so we thought we might wait for it to die down a bit before jumping in line. we stood off to the side for a little while but the line just got longer and longer.

We decided to jump in line. I think it took us about 45 minutes to an hour to check out. They only had 2 registers. The line had to be at least 150 long and it kept growing. People could barely move through the store. The line snaked all over the store. It was fucking insane. If I had a chance to do it again I would not do it again. I'm glad I got the ammo but the experience sucked ass. It was like what you see on Black Friday.

I figured the turnout would be insane but was worried about their actual supply. But they pulled it off some how. They had a lot of ammo and at decent prices. Considering most places don't even have ammo or if they do it is extremely overpriced.

Hadn't heard that before, never used them myself...couldn't justify buying 10 right now so I didn't go for it myself, guess that's a good thing😉

My Academy hasn't had shit for a long time...guess I'll just have to wait out the hysteria

promags, even in pistol mags, get bad reviews too.

never used thermolds myself either, but i've seen enough bad reviews that I won't waste the money.

I have several pmags that work flawlessly and 2 c-products mags that work flawlessly also. I have several colt and brownell's mags that I haven't used yet, but they get good reviews. I bought a 10 pack of the brownell's when they had a sale on them way back for $8.99 a mag.

I'm only sitting on 7 pmags and a single pink D&H aluminum mag for my wife's rifle...I really want some more FDE pmags but I'd settle for black right now just to have a few more, just can't seem to find any

Got an email from Shadow Guns, looks like I'll have my AR-15 lower ahead of schedule. Now I need someone to do a photoshop file for me for the engraving. It's simple but I have no clue. Any volunteers?
