Thoughs?

P.S. It doesn't matter why I'm asking, just want to know what you guys think of the whole norinco thing vs others.

Given previous threads, I kind of think it does matter, to a degree, why you're asking. The absence of that info made a few posters believe this was a trolling thread. I have thus locked it. -Admin DrPizza

I thought about buying one. A guy at the range has a huge scar on his face from one failing, bought a Kimber instead.

wtf? you make all these posts about how guns are evil and shit and then you go and make threads like this? I don't know what to think other than: troll.

I've heard they are pretty decent for base guns to build up but no personal experience.

Obvious troll is obvious. Hal has no interest in guns except banning them and their appropriate uses.

"thoughts"

[edit]
CZroe posting w/ my account again...

I think HAL is going to get back the $$ that's owed to him.

A $350 1911 is a scary thing.

I have 2 30 year old Colt 1911's that had a price of $600 new, no fancy anything, just basic 5" blued steel Government models.

The same gun is easily $1k new now.

I'd look for a used Kimber or find something from Rock Island Armory instead of a Norinco.

Although, I suppose it depends on what you want to do with it. Everyday carry? Invest in something better. Home defense? Find something more reliable. If you just want something for random range trips/ safe queen, a Norinco would probably be fine.

I should give you an infraction just for wasting my time to have to remove the quote in two places. There's no need to post "Reported" - it does nothing more than antagonize people. Just report it and that's it. There is ZERO need to ever brag to everyone about reporting posts.-Admin DrPizza

Yep. Reported.

OK, not that encouraging.

Good point. Thanks.

I just figured out why I hate my macbook pro - the delete button on a PC deletes stuff past the cursor. The delete button on this thing is like the backspace on a PC. Annoying. Almost as annoying as removing the same quote three times. -Admin DrPizza

This isn't that, though I appreciate the... ermm.. Concern?

Can you at least see the issue making numerous anti-gun posts, then your first gun thread is "I can't tell you why I want to know" shortly after a "I need help, am seriously depressed, etc." thread? I mean that spells troll pretty well, don't you think?

Where I live, obtaining Firearms is a pain in the ass... So I don't see much point in wasting the effort on something cheap. Therefore, I would pass on the cheap 1911.

It's interesting the hate that cheap 1911's get. A lot of people have the RIA and similar 1911's and swear by them. If you plan on upgrading (most people who buy base model 1911's do), starting with an inexpensive base isn't a terrible idea.

The biggest thing is the frame to slide fitment. I personally haven't handled one so I can't comment on it.
