man you guys are beign really harsh on this guys mom, so she has some feelign there..so what, you guys want him to disown her...he just needs a sit down with her and discuss this if that doesnt work....he needs to move out and do his own thang

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious. But in all seriousness - stand up for this girl if you really like her, even if that means standing up to your mom. Your old enough that she can't control you anymore.

Correct me if I'm worng (read: flame me into psychosis), but I was of the understanding that people from Spain were technically caucasian, given their obvious european association (association = least offensive word to come to mind at the time 😉).

well 'cause cuz being a spaniard means that your nationality is spanish (i'm refering to country of origin, not the spanish language.) spanish is not an ethnicity. my nationality is american. my ethnicity is hispanic. my race is white. i don't know if this makes sense to anybody, but it's always how i've seen it.

well i dunno. i've always thought that people from spain shared a slightly different culture than caucasians, and that's why i refer to my ethnicity as hispanic. the race of spaniards (and myself), however, is still white.

without reading the whole thread:

Either tell your mom about her in a way that it suggests that she's hispanic and look for a reaction, or just introduce her and deal with it from there, regardless of the reaction. I certainly wouldn't stop seeing the girl because of this, but don't think I'd tell your g/f about it, not yet because that'll just put pressure on her.
