I plan on proposing to my gf pretty soon -- already got the ring.

But i have no idea what I should do! I don't want to do anything too cheesy, but something nice and memorable.

We are going on a cruise this weekend too!

Help me out please!
 
i know it's going to be yes -- she's already trying to plan the wedding. ahahhahah

we're going to Mexico, just for the weekend.
 
do it on the cruise.
After dinner one night, take a walk around the ship. find someplace quiet and out of the way, but a place where it is still romantic. Lay togehter on a lounge chair, talk, kiss, and then tell her what you want... you want to spend every day of your life loving her, making her the happiest woman possible. You love her, etc etc etc. Classic and personal.

OR, if you want ot be more open... call the matire'd and ask him to make your gf a special dessert one night. don't let her choose what she wants. Get the chef's to make a dessert with writing in chocolate "will you?"
when its put in front of her... she will nto get it, so be on your knee next to her with the ring in hand!

Make is special, just whatever that would be for her can depend on the person.

I proposed to my now wife on her couch while sitting, I totally forgot to even get down on one knee and all that crap! I was just so focused on asking and not messing up the words that I just forgot 😱

This cruise is the PERFECT time/place/event to do it. And from a man's perspective...it's already paid for! 😀 You don't have to come up with something else and play "Can you top this?" with yourself.

I was going to say there should something else in the box along with the ring, ...... but I guess Lolawiz's idea is good too.

I've done that before... the ship's captain and security crew didn't find it quite as funny as I did.
 
my fiance really wanted to be proposed to in front of her family and friends... i was freakin nervous as hell.. but i did it.. she loved it.. it was on her birthday at her mom's house... the setting was nothing special... it was obviously a special birthday however... i think no matter what you do, the moment will be inherently special and memorable.. just be sincere... in this story, the setting isn't as important as the characters...
 
lolawiz's idea was the one that i was thinking of doing.....but since she suggested the same concept, i'll probably go with something along those lines.

the other thing is that i'd really love to get it on video so i can have it as a memory too.......that part would be difficult to do. 😛

and yes, i konw asking ATOT for proposal tips isn't the best thing, but i like to have a good laugh or two 🙂

get the ships photogs/videographer to be there when you do it!
meet with them earlier in the cruise and tell themyour plan!
also, to make it even more special, send your girl for a massage before dinner!

You could also just ask her.....
But I agree, do it on the cruise. Why miss out on the opportunity? I guarantee she's already expecting that to occur during the trip.
