YAGT: need advice on a new girl, when to ask the question

K I have been seeing this girl when I went back to my home country. Unfortunately she goes to school in Boston while I am in Socal..

We've been talking over the phone, and SMSing and IMing each day, she even says that she miss me one time.. ALso she invited me to her place in Boston

I am planning to have a trip to Boston after my midterms are done in a couple of weeks (and when its a little bit warmer there), my question is: when should I ask her to be my GF? should I do it before the trip? During the trip, or after the trip?

ALso she might come to my place instead of me going to Boston

My problem with b4 the trip is she might actually say no, so the trip will be pointless... also if I ask during the trip and she says no it will be hella awkward..
But if she says yes.... the trip will be so much more fun!
 
I don't really think you ask someone to be your girlfriend. It just happens, an understanding develops. But what do I know, I aint ever had a girlfriend 🙁

no I didnt not talk to this girl only once ..

I know her for quite a while, and we share the same nationality.. its hard to find people of my nationality here in the states... and I think we are a good match..

EDIT: and of course we will visit each other.. and for the summer we will go back to our home country and be much more closer (her house there is like 5 miles away from mine)
 
well if your really want her to be your gf.. dont do it before or during your trip.. do it right before you leave that way you dont ruin your trip there if she says get a clue 🙂


Edit: Good luck with your long distance relationship.. Take what these people say with a grain of salt.. most of them have never even had a gf. I was in a long distance relationship with my now husband for almost 4 years before we lived in the same country. We've been together a total of 6 now, married for almost 1 year. Long distance takes a lot of work. BUT it does work.

ask her to be your gf.. and make a plausble bid for her.. meaning have a reason of why you two should be a couple..

I know it works cause it did for me.. (how much ever a dorky move that was, it worked).... but then she already thought of me as her bf before even i got to ask her.

Dude, when you see her or the other way around, make sure you bring some flowers, that way, your intentions are implied, and you wont need a formal engagement. If you insist, then do it when you are about to leave. Just make sure you make it clear to her in the meantime, like hold her hand, pay for dinner, etc.....

Not what I said...I said first girl that spoke with you, not 1st time you spoke with the girl.

I will tell you what though, nationality is not a good criteria for a match...sounds like you are using this to be the catch all for not meeting other women.

Visting each other is something you do with relatives, not a g/f. Would you marry a woman living 2000 miles away or more on the premise you might go and visit once in a while as well as see her in the summer? Keep in mind as college students one or both of you will probably find it hard to travel all these times you are thinking about.

Sounds like you already have no shot....and what's the weather really have to do with it? Why don't you just wait for Summer then?

If she wants you to go to Boston, I'd go see what's up and then discuss it after the time is spent.

hmm actually I didnt know who spoke first... it just kinda happened...

Keep in mind that we are only studying here, we will eventually go back to our home country and we will be seing each other much more frequently

Sorry but I just prefer asian people or people from my natiionality, americans just dont do it for me.. moreover it will NEVER fly with my family if I get an american chick.. not being racist and all but its just my culture

that's a good guess. in socal.. and boston... there's hella asians but rarely malaysian n stuff like that... I say z0mb13 is Indonesian.
