A few weeks ago I convinced my freind to buy tickets to Bonnaroo, so he could come along with me and some of my freinds from school. Since hees a cool guy, he buys a ticket for his girlfreind, who dumped him this past week, a few days before we would leave to drive down there (we live in NY). So, not only did this girl break his heart, she also screwed him out of a couple hundred bucks...

In closing, girls suck.

why doesn't he just get his game on and invite another girl? or isn't there another friend who'd go?

his ex-gf isn't the only person on the planet who would go. i don't see how he can't get someone else to use the ticket.

yeah, see the problem is we live in NY, the concert is this weekend, in tennesee, and were driving, so its hard for our freinds to get time off from work at such short notice.

plus, this was his girlfreind for 3+ years, and you've seen how torn up some guys get over girls, based on the million other YAGTs here 😀

edit: also, dave matthews band is playing in saratoga, NY the same weekend, so alot of our freinds are going to that (although im really not sure why...)

i'd bet if he tried he could get some happy-go-lucky chick to come along and have the time of his life with her. his ex is loving him being a poor ole broken hearted dude right now with no girl to go to the concert with.

I'm really surprised that people are traveling from that far away. It really does amaze me.
 
I am in the same boat...kinda. I am going to see radiohead in NY tuesday and weds, but have tickets to bonnaroo as well. My friends just bailed on me so now I am stuck with a ticket that i would have to selll for pbob half price.

My friends are also at the beach this week...I dunno if i should just say ****** it and go to the beach for the entire week instead....what do you think.

meh, he won't do it.

he's hoping that playing the down-in-the-ruts card, i.e. being blatantly miserable (the key here is being blatant enough for the ex to notice), will earn enough sympathy from her to make her find it worthwhile to abuse him a little more. going out and having a good time that soon after she broke up with him? How dare he not wallow in misery and self-loathing? the nerve!
 
Do you really think that the girl waited until he purchased the tickets before breaking up?

He may be able to scalp the tickets at the concert or unload them on E-Bay/Craig (etc) to recoup some of the cost.
