To make a long story short:

I met this really cool chick a while back. We've recently talked a lot lately. So I will be spending SuperBowl Sunday watching the game with her.

But Honestly, I don't give a crap about the game (even though I'm DYING to watch it.....) I just want to meet her for the first time and get to know each other. (NO, that doesn't mean anything about sex.) I don't have a hidden agenda, just want to get to know her better.

Shes sweet, adorable, and cute. I'd love to watch the game, but hey thats why there is Tivo. If I miss the whole game, its fine as I'll get to know a great girl, with VERY good girlfriend potential...

Question 1

I'm like SUPER broke right now, as I have a bill next week that NEEDS to get P A I D. I'll have on me, maybe $20-40 to spend for snacks or whatever...but how can I not give her the impression I'm NOT poor as hell when I'm over there. She offered for me to come over and watch the SB at her place...so I don't think I'd need to spend too much...??


Question 2:
SO my Q is this Shes a very picky eater. I told her I'd get some munchies, but I don't want her to feel uncomfortable if I get something we won't like. Shes VERY finicky about what she'll eat. What kind of munchies are good to get..??

I'd actually be looking for some popcorn or something, since I'm like 99% certain we'll just watch a movie. Popcorn is very simple, but I HATE microwave popcorn. Though for such a finicky eater, not sure. Thought the Edy's Sherbet is DIVINE!!! Maybe I could get that, or Both? But would that seem like I'm too desperate? I'd just like to hang out and have a good time.

I offered to 'explain' how Pro Football would work, though I said if she's bored with it, we could watch a movie. So now I ALSO need help on picking out a movie. I asked her if she likes those movies that make you think, shes like not... So I'd like to get a SHORT, interesting Movie...that isn't scary or too much 'thinking' involved. I was thinking of Requiem for a Dream...but thats a bit too much of a movie to watch for the first date. Thought bout Casino..but thats just too damn long. So a Short, cute, comedy.. (NO: Garden State or Something bout Mary, been there done that...)

SO basically, I'm going to be myself. Not any hidden agenda, need good reco's for a DVD, and some munchies for the finicky eater..

P.S....and btw. When we first started really hitting it off, she was giving me advice after I broke up with another girl. I'd like to give her a 'Thank You' card for that. But she says she doesn't like 'metro-sexual' so wondering if thats too 'fruity' for a new guy in her eyes.
 
For a good movie Id either take Rounders, Italian Job or Oceans 11

All great movies, and all are easy and fun to watch, and to drown out if you know what I mean 😉
 
Did Requiem HONESTLY come up in your mind for a first date movie?

Just for popping into your head, you should reconsider and recoup 😉

first of all, dont give her a thank you card. that would bring up the subject of an ex. think awkward.

second, your movie selections are horrible. try something like Collateral, shrek 2 and dont limit yourself to comedy, but rather a memorable movie that isnt too out there. it can give you something to talk about afterwards.

finally, why dont you ask her what she would like to eat. if she says its up to you, at least get an idea of what kind of an eater she is. if anything COOK! try to impress her that way. it'll be cheaper too.

lol j/k, but don't mention her help for your breakup, thank her some other time once you get really familiar if you want. Reminding her of a previous relationship on a first date is not a good idea, you're just asking for jealousy to flash her green eyes. Watch half baked for excellent frugality during a date. 😉 I'd say just watch a light comedy, easy to like, and easy to ignore. As for food, just bring the sherbet and the popcorn, it shouldn't be a big deal. If it is, then maybe it's time to reconsider this girl. Good luck!
 
Just ask her what would be good munchies. Don't be too nice to her or she will throw the friend vibe at her....this is where the game comes in. Watch the game with her, and yell & get excited & have fun. Pick a team & cheer for them like crazy, even if it's just because they're in the same conference as your team.

Now the point of this is to not make HER the focal point of the date. The reason is that cute girls are used to guys oogling over them & kissing their butt and asking them all about who they are. If you sit there & watch a movie with her it will be awkward and won't go well alot of times. The best thing to do on a first date is something that is fun for you. This way you avoid too much awkward conversation, you let her see how cute you are (which is huge, girls love watching guys get excited when they first meet them), and maybe even teach her some basics of football (which is good for you if you're with her next year).

Just have fun no matter what, if you get too deep with her or try too hard you will get the friends feedback. If she feels too comfortable around you she will look at you like a brother or worse, a good friend...lol
 
dude, if you are have so many questions about food and movie, just take her with you or ask her.....I think it is good idea to go buy snacks together, and go to rental place together.....

Dude, it's your first date. Just be polite and ask her what she'd like. If she's expecting you to know her exact likes and dislikes on your first date, it's already time to move on.
