Umm, cervical cancer is a leading killer among women (after breast and lung, obviously). My wife's grandmother is in extreme pain from it, and has gotten to the point to where she will likely pass within the next few days.

Any cancer caught in the early stages is very treatable nowadays.

I mean, only 10-15 years back testicular cancer was a death sentence for many, but after they found out platinum could fight it, it is very treatable.

Cancer caught later is very hard to get rid of because it is pervasive and has already gotten into the bloodstream.

Minimally invasive surgeries have done good things with early stages of cervical cancer. Of course the woman is not the same after, and may have complications if they want kids, but if the surgery goes well, it is still doable.

wow thats pretty rude of you to wish cancer on someone. What if she can't have children? What if there are further complications and it spreads?

In any case, how do you know she didn't get it from you? People get hpv all the time but their body is able to fight it off and it goes away. Most people don't even know if they did or didn't have it. There are only a few high-risk types that lead to cervical cancer and its really sad that she contracted it.


oh and you get it from sexual touching.. not even intercourse, using a condom doesn't even mean you are safe.

If you're equating contracting HPV with being a slut, you're a very sheltered individual.

For the record, it's not exactly uncommon CDC facts for you:

At least 50 percent of sexually active men and women acquire genital HPV infection at some point in their lives. By age 50, at least 80 percent of women will have acquired genital HPV infection.

It can also be contracted while using proper protection, as all it requires is contact of skin in the genital area.

This disease is almost 100 percent curable when it is diagnosed in its early stages and treated promptly. It says ALMOST 100% not 100%

I'm not clear how you can get tested for HPV, there is no FDA approved test for men for cancer causing strains of HPV.

I dunno I went to go and visit the doctor, had pap smears done, bloodtests, everything came back negative with the exception of the fact that I have HSV (that I already knew).

If you're correct then I'm still not safe and that has me gravely concerned.

Isn't it aggravated assault if you have an STD that can be fatal and fail to disclose it to someone that you have sex with?

I don't think men can get pap smears.

Cancer causing HPV strains doesn't do anything to men, you just become a carrier.

It isn't exactly a pap smear, but they can swab your junk and do DNA testing.

It's not the most reliable test.
