Well, I normally don't ask these types of questions, but I just moved into a new apt. and a week later a nice girl my age moved in across the hall from me. We have talked a few times and I helped her get her car door open after an ice storm and she has came over to "introduce" her self to me.

Just wondering if I should ask her to come over and watch a movie or if that would freak her out.

I hate to ask these questions on here, oh well.

Ask her out on a date outside of your apartment first. The apartment date should come later. 😛

The worst thing that could happen is that she says no!

Kristi was my ex, I know it wasn't the best name to use here. :S

I could have a house warming party but I don't have much friends here since I'm new. I don't mind asking her, I just don't want to weird her out.
 
Ask her over.

If she is somewhat interested she'll be up for it. If not she'll make an excuse or just say no. If she is busy she'll arrange for another date she is free.

ya asking her over for a movie is moving a bit quick in her eyes. definetely gotta let her get to know you better in a place she feels comfortable.
 
Well, how often do you go out and buy movies? If you do so on a regular basis and she knows that you get movies fairly often, then go out and get a new movie, leave it in the package and when she is home one day go over with the movie still in it's package and ask her "Hey, I just got (insert movie title here), you wanna come over and watch it?" (hold up movie while saying it's name then put yoru arm back down).

Oh, and for gods sake make sure your apartment is in better than usual shape. (ie clean before you invite her over)
 
definately ask her out somewhere in public. though she is your neighbour, any street smart girl would think twice before going into a strangers apartment.
guess it really depends, but asking her over to your apartment be you've really hung out or gone on a date at all would be pretty forward.
 
I think the going out in public suggestion is good. I think I'll ask her if she wants to get something to eat since I'm on my way out to get something.

Around 6:30pm or so knock on her door and say you prepared a big dinner for you and a friend as you were gonna watch the big game but he had car trouble and couldnt make it. Offer her some food and if say says yes, invite her in while you prepare her a plate to take back to her place.

Hopefully she offers to eat it at your place while you get to talking.


Inviting her over to watch a movie is bad news, stalker material there.




 
yeah public is proabaly a good idea for the first date. My most recent first date was dinner and a strip club, at her sugestion, public does not always mean entirely non sexually oriented or driven.
 
if you're still using your ex's name as your screenname, you probably need to spend a little more time alone.
