I first met this girl in my Junior year of high school and was attracted to her so I got to know her. It turned out that she was into gaming and other interests of mine and she has been a good friend, going to the movies, LAN partying with my group.

Fast forward to now. Senior year of high school came and went with us being friends, but I began to fall in love. As I am too shy, I never told her how I felt. We talked and hung out over the summer and I started at the JC in my town in the fall. I had told my buddy how I felt about this girl, because he asked, and about a month later he started dating her. I flipped and told her how I felt about her, that I had fallen in love with her, and she didn't say how she felt either way, and now her and my buddy broke up. I saw her a week ago and didn't know they weren't together anymore, and looking back I think she was flirting with me, and at the end of the party she hugged me (she doesn't usually hug her guy friends) and said it was really nice to see me.

So basically, I don't know what to do, because I have never been in a relationship before and everyone in high school/ early college that I have seen ends and the people involved usually don't stay friends, should I ask her out, or should I just remain good friends eventhough I think I love her.

You are not in love until you really get to know this girl more. Just keep it cool, be friends, be honest and let things happen. Don't force anything but don't send her the wrong messages either (i.e. do not act as though you don't like her and play hard to get kinda sh*t).

Just ask her out dude! Don't act funny about it though, just keep things like they always were between you guys, you should be tappin....., errrrrrmmmm, well you'll be even closer to her ;). Just don't act funny about it.

you really got nothing to lose.. just be logical... you don't have her.. you may get her, which is good.. you don't get her, which is the same.. so just ask her out..

Ask her out. If dating goes well try for intimacy. Life is too short for Unrequited love and it sucks too. Get away from your computer and start doing the real thing.
