Actually, Karen girl wouldn't mind, she said I could date people and that I didn't have to tell her. I didn't cheat on her, I just feel personally guilty.
I am into Karen, SHE has been pretty cold to me, which is forcing me to have some distance. She was sick all week and I did take care of her. Had her over for a few nights, gave her back massages, made her soup... I was the nice guy and, one night, I said, innocently, "You know, I like ya, don't you?" and she gets upset, says "Sam, I still don't know how I feel about you... I like you, but I'm not sure how..."
So i've been distant since then. I've known her for a year, liked her for months, and she rejected me for a while and now we're going on dates... yet she hasn't warmed up, and it's frustrating.

Um... I didn't meet karen on myspace.. and i've known the 19 year old since I moved to my new hood, like 4 months now. We're in-person friends who met through myspace, not myspace friends (she lives two blocks away).And it wasn't just words I exchanged with either of them..

FB212: you're on the right path. keep your options as open as possible without lying to anyone. if you overcommit to #1 and eventually she decides things aren't going anywhere, you'll be hurt and you'll have wasted your time. if you keep things casual for the moment, but let the girl know that you'd like more, just be patient.

The real question to ask yourself is why do you feel that it is wrong to enjoy the company of more than one women? Where did you learn this notion? Is it something you truely believe on a deep level or is it something that you absorbed through your environment and therefore acceopt it as the default?

Dave, you read my mind. I've been that guy before - the nurterer who becomes the best gay friend, even though I'm not gay! I don't want to smother her, I don't want to overwhelm her. I don't want to be the guy who's always around and therefore never exciting. Right now I left big gaps in my "so whatcha do this weekend?" conversation, gaps that probably make her a little curious but in a way that's better than thinking that I'll always be there for her, even if she's vague about how she feels about me.

From what you just said about Karen, move on if she can't decide. But don't go with 2 girls at once. If she wants to stick around and 'decide how she feels about you', let her know you aren't about to wait around for her. It sounds sort of like she's already told you not to wait around though.
In my experience the part where they decide how they feel about you is a load of crap and usually means there's an ulterior motive for being near you - like to incur jealousy with someone else or some thing along those lines.

You're right, I shouldn't feel guilty but it probably stems from being the long term relationship guy... I feel weird seeing more than one girl, feel weird not telling everyone the whole truth (I never lie, mind you) and am not used to having to be slick all the time - that's really tiring. Slick as in suave, charming.
It also probably has a lot to do with my upbringing. Both very traditional indian and very christian. I don't feel it's *wrong* but i do feel guilty, even though Karen was the one who wanted to keep it open while I really would like to just date one girl (it's so much cheaper!).
