You are missing a few digits there.

Keep in mind 99.9999999% of all NY real estate listings are outright lies, because if they listed what is really available, noone would bother to look.

The REAL rates are around $20/sq. ft./month.

Holy crap. I pay $1.14/ft²/mo in Kingston, NY and I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Its like $350/ft² in London...

I drive a £600 car and save loads of money on having no car payments

I didn't say that.

I want to know if this is something I should be hiding; other posters seen to think i should...hence the moral debate.

how could you possibly find somewhere to bank with such vast quantities of moneys!!!?!?!

this post is fvcking hilarious. in the initial post you make it sound like you're saudi royalty moving to harlem.

btw, how would "operation hide the income" be played out? you wear a straw hat and overalls, start chewing tabaccy and join a jug-band?

So we started driving along the waterfront to this little rest area where we had a clear view of Detroit and I started introducing her to my Electronia...she thought it was fun stuff. So I unbuckled my belt and leaned over to kiss her, started making out and so on and so forth. A little bit of this and a little bit of that and 2 hours later Stunt was a happy man.

She had a tongue ring and man could she GO!! Wow!... and get this...the girl was even nice enough to bring her own protection.
You'd think getting it on in a Honda Civic would be difficult but if you put the seats back, it's not that bad

is that your new expensive car?

For 1100 sq feet in L.A. you'll pay about $750,000 if you want something nice. To just keep out of the ghetto you'll pay $500,000. That's over $450/sq foot.

That's just asking for trouble. Plus it's rude.
I don't tell them what I make...
It's obvious that I'm well off with $5k living room furniture, 42" plasma, new computer, new car, nice diningroom and bedroom set.

It's actually quite hard to hide what I make...
The average income here is $30k per person (not household), I'm at $62k and likely will be at high 60's in Feb.

I like to pat myself on the back sometimes and this results in an obvious sign of wealth in a poorer community.

dude seriously now..come on you made it seem like your bill gates moving into ethiopia...
haha

Just talk about your oppressive credit card debt and they won't be any wiser...

Pretty sure they measure in square meters, not square feet there.
1 sq m = 10.66 sq ft.

Also, what I was saying about the listings being lies, pretty much every residential rental listing in NYC especially manhattan, if they list a square footage at all, its listed as 3x what the place actually is. Meaning if an apartment is listed as 450 sq ft, that means its 150 sq ft. Including the closets & bathroom (if any), including space for the walls, etc. People in the area that are used to being lied to in this way have developed a false sense of how much a square foot is, and will think that a 10x10 room is 300 sq ft.

Commercial listings list what they actually are (so you can calculate the ridiculous $20/sq ft rate easier), because I guess they can't get away with the same thing dealing with businesses that are also looking at places in other cities.

So the "600 sq ft" apartment someone suggested would be 12G by the formula, well, if it is listed as 600sq ft, it's actually 200 sq ft, so it would go around 4G/month. If it is REALLY 600 sq ft, it will be listed as 1800 sq ft, and be at least a 3 bedroom. 3BR apartments are not priced quite as ridiculously as 1BR and studios, so it would probably be "only" around 6G/month.

>>>
Because even with the average at $30k, most of the women i meet are waitresses or healthcare workers who make less than that

These women are living paycheck to paycheck and my income is fairly apparent.

You don't see this as a bad thing?
>>>

i think you're a m***n...sorry.....you write here on the forum that its a problem for YOU (!!!) that the average women there works as a waitress...so you are prejudging people based on what they make...how LOW.

At the same time YOU complain about WOMEN being prejudging YOU because you dont them "want you" because of your money. Pathetic.

You do the same thing just the other way around.

I think you're pretty immature.

Also...your $62 is nice....but certainly not that great as it sounded in your first post. I'd recommend to grow up first and maybe get a GRIP about how to judge other people (in general) based on OTHER things than what they're making. Sign of a very bad character...sry dude...

Move to a higher income area.

I mean since you making the cake now, you can afford it....quality area = quality women? right right?

seriously, I just think you are an a**. A pretty insecure one. If you are confident at being who you are, you would care less.

And really, if you lock up all ur money....they couldn't dig anything anyway...I don't think women are blinded by 42" plasma and Intel Core Duo Desktop....sorry...if they are...half of the ATOT's YAGTs wouldn't be here.

I haven't been around for too long, but I've been around long enough to know that just because a person has a college degree, that does not make the person smart.

Conversely, just because someone doesn't have a college degree, that doesn't mean they aren't smart.

Isn't the RS4 your company car? Oh wait, its your company. :p

Btw hows that going? Did you get your voice-thingy into any OEMs yet?

Back to topic, $60k CDN/year isn't that much after taxes.

That's well off? You're a sad man to have your life defined by material possession.

60k for you, 30k for them? I don't see how this is much different than many other communities. You made it seem like you were walking in with significantly more money, and you're really not. Sure, you're making double their single salary, but it's only 30k more. That happens all the time, I can tell you that the amount of incoming varying in my development ranges from 100kish to near 600k (both household) and the houses do not differ by enough to make it apparent.

If I were you I'd worry more about being so ostentatious and less about making a bit more money than them.
