I don't care who it is: my SO, my friends, or even my family, a phone call is all I need if someone is going to be late and we have something scheduled. My GF pulled the "be late a few HOURS and dont call" routine twice and I told her to shape up. Haven't had a problem since. At the very least, she calls if she is late. That's all I expect out of a respectable person, even if they are going to be late.

I have only done this once.

I went to a friends house and on the way home since it was early (9pm or so) and my wife was at work and thebaby was at her grandmothers i decided to go to the movies.

Well my wife gets home at 11:45 so i went to go see spiderman 2. the movie got out at 11:55! heh she was mad but figured that is what i did.

but she did call my buddy to see if i was still there. heh
