This girl started working in the group I am in this past January. I've been showing her how to do stuff at work. I am also taking a grad class, I mentioned that I was having trouble with the hw, when she mentioned that she could help. Then, I brought up about where we could meet up, she said her place would work. She just moved in there about 2 weeks ago, said she wanted to show me her place. So, I went there earlier tonight, right after work. We got some pizza, she helped me with the hw, I got it done.

As I was about to leave, she mentioned that she was bored in the evenings, and said I was welcome to come over again, to which I replied she was welcome to come over to my place, to which she said ok. She moved here recently from upstate NY, dont think she knows too many people here. I dont think she has a bf, I havent asked her about one, but hasnt come up in our conversations so far. Wonder if I should pursue this any further. Hmm, as much as I would like to, gotta tread very carefully.

Yes, be careful but it could be very rewarding. I met my wife at work 5 years ago :)

cute?

Yeah, I would say cute. She's quite small. As far as I know, there are no rules against it. In the software group, I know (so do most others) that these 2 people are seeing each other. One's in software integration, the other is in software development. They have different leads, but both their leads report to the same person. I'm sure they work together at times too.

Hell yeah! You aren't her boss. Who gives a fvck? As long as you aren't drilling her at work. Just keep it professional at work and you should be fine.

I met my wife through work actually.

Don't put the cart before the horse...maybe she just wants to be friends and wants someone to hang out with a bit.

Other than that...just take it slow and be careful.

Exactly. My cousin met his wife at work.

personally I wouldn't only because she is in your group... if you just worked with her but didn't have to do work with her i'd say go for it. But because you two have to actually do stuff at work together, and if you broke up in a bad way... well it would suck.

True, not really knowing too many other people in the area, she might just want to hang out. Maybe after 2 or 3 more times of either going out or going to each other's places, I'll get a better idea of where things are headed, what her intentions are.

She's in the same dept/group, and we have the same boss.

Hit it. Just make sure that before any crap hits the fan you setup the doc trail on her. In otherwords save any and all communication and keep a diary of all verbal communication.

When I was 18, I was banging a girl I worked with.

Mall food court? Check.
Pizza joint? Check.
Older woman takes my virginity? Oh yeah, CHECK!

The boss liked me more, so when it was time for a layoff, she was fired...
The whole thing was fine as far as the workplace was concerned, but awkward for me. I don't recommend it now that I'm 16 years older.

TheGizmo is right. I'm not into dating girls from work at all, but especially the case if you have to interact regularly as you do with this girl. There's tons of other girls out there.

Look man, just fscking do her. I have recently had sex with a chick from Belgium who talked about her "boy friend" (in Belgium) quite a bit. And im poised to hookup with my neighbor who has a semi-long distance boy friend. Proximity is 95% of the equation. Dont question, just DO! Fsck, so many YAGTs just dont get it. No risk, no reward. Take a chance.

Go for it! She seems to be showing interest, so if you like her don't waste your opportunity!

As long as you both act like adults and don't play stupid fvcking games it should be fine. I would just take it one day at a time and see where it leads. Don't completely discount office romances. If you're a good judge of character and keep everything professional at work there's no reason this for this to ever become a problem.
