I left out a semi-important fact: he is French. So part of it may be a language/communication/cultural issue, but even so I could tell he was being mean. I could tell from everyone elses reactions that they recognized it as well.

Way to pull the French flag. Shows a lot about your character. Let me guess, you guys had some burgers and Freedom Fries? Did you play some Risk after, and wait, wait, he surrendered? Don't try to mask your stereotypes by saying it might be a "language/communication/cultural" issue. What? They don't date in France?

You're a fvcking tool. You now know me well enough to know that I have something against French people? I'm dating the daughter of a French guy in case you missed that. I may not agree with the policies of the French government, but I have absolutely nothing against someone because they may be French, you idiot. Fvck off.

Why mention it at all? You brought it up looking for controversy. You said "I left out a semi-important fact.: he is French." How is that important?

I have to agree with this. It's no secret that thepresence doesn't like the french. At all.

I don't know what to tell her now. I mean, I don't want to marry into a family who I'm going to hate forever. Oh well, such is life.

EDIT: I think this is my first YAGT evar.
fvck him. he's probably miserable to everyone so don't take it personally.

The OP told us that the guy is speaking a different language. You don't think that's relative to figuring out if there is some miscommunication and trying to figure out the reason?

Way for you to let your biases and stereotypes color all the information you receive, so now the mere mention of the word French makes someone prejudiced. There's no reason to not take the OP's words at face value. If he has said the guy was Russian so the language barrier might have led to some miscommunication, i'm sure you would have jumped down his throat just as quick.

Give me a break. You and I both know he brought it up to stir up controversy. And he accomplished just that, feeding into the anti-French sentiment here on ATOT. Look at how quickly m2kewl played into his ploy. If the father was Russian, would I have a problem with it? Probably not, because ATOT doesn't have a problem with Russians. But I bet he wouldn't have a problem with father either, or at least wouldn't have mentioned that "semi-important fact."

WTF are you talking about? Have I ever said anything about the French in the past? Sheesh, you people.

I brought that fact up because there may be some miscommunication between him and I. The fact that your little peabrain can't see that has got nothing to do with the way I feel about him. So take your little biases, stuff them somewhere and stop projecting them on me. The last thing I'd want to do is feed the little 12 year old kids who have never met a French person in their lives. You went ahead and stirred this up when nobody inferred what you did. But wtf, I don't have to answer to you. Think what you want to think, I honestly don't give a fvck. But don't come in here accusing me of something.

I don't know that because i'm not psychic, or as touchy on the subject as you are. Fact is, the information he provided has relevance to the story, so i'm not going to accuse him of something negative because of my own issues.

Yes, there are some juvenile members of ATOT that foam at the mouth whenever they think of France, but assuming that everyone on here is part of that group is no better than what you accuse the OP of being.
