haha, no offense OP, but I love it when guys don't know how to deal with their SO's parents. It just makes me look that much better when they bring me home for dinner.
It's not me, it's him. I was very nice and cordial the whole time.

Ok, maybe he is just a jerk, but maybe he just has expectations that you didn't meet. What did you wear to dinner? I like to overdress a little when I meet the parents for the first time. Was dinner at a restaurant, or at his house? If the latter, what did you bring with you? I usually ask what they are making for dinner and bring an appropriate wine (first make sure that they drink wine heh) alternatively, sometimes I bring flowers for the table and try to find out what her dad's interests are, and maybe bring something small for him that is in line with his interests, or at the VERY least I try to learn a little bit about his interests so that I can converse with him about it. If you showed up in jeans and a t-shirt empty handed with nothing to converse about, ready for a free meal you just shot yourself in the foot.
It was a barbeque at their house. I was dressed appropriately. I brought a nice bottle of wine. Again, I'm not 15 here, this is something I've done before a few times. I never had this reaction though.

Tell him to get over it.

"Cause you've already blitzkrieged through the maginot line." Then elbow him in the stomache. /wink Then say "Eh frenchie?"

If that doesnt work, take him to Macdonalds and treat him to a milkshake and some large Freedom fries.

My ex-girlfriends father didnt like me...

why? because I was dating his daugther.

Fathers like that will only like guys they pick for their daugther. Not guys their daugther pick.

He didn't even give me a chance.

I don't think he wants you to stick your wee wee in her pee pee. Can you really blame him for that?

Of course the dad doesn't like you, you are ****** his little girl.
He doesn't seem to have a problem with his other sons-in-laws.

You're not a son-in-law tho.

You've probably got to keep being the bigger person and not fall into his trap of giving him justification to be an @ss. I suspect you're time will come to shut him up with a witty reply(s), but maybe not until you have more leverage established with everyone.

If the girl is worth it, stick it out, maybe he will eventually tolerate you (in his mind no one is good enough for his daughter probably). But if you stick out his tirade, he may respect you more for sticking it out.

Dump the bitch.

I would do her in the anus first, and then dump her and tell her daddy about it, then buy a 1 way ticket to asia

The more stuff you say bennylong, the more I realize you are a complete jackass.

At what point are you going to stop posting in threads that involve sex and/or relationships? You have no idea what you are talking about, nothing insightful to add and make bad cliches about asian endowment seem fresh new and charged with hilarity. Seriously, you wouldn't do her ITB, you would dump the bitch, you wouldn't tell her daddy. You would do any of this because you are a 30 year old virgin who likes to start threads bitching about women when your own track record is clear proof that the issue is squarely in your lap (right next to the Jergens).

That's just it...they're his son-in-laws! My guess is, right now, you're just some guy sniffing around his daughter and he's not sure of your intentions yet. Why not ask one of the other son-in-laws if they had the same experience as you prior to marriage?

Way to pull the French flag. Shows a lot about your character. Let me guess, you guys had some burgers and Freedom Fries? Did you play some Risk after, and wait, wait, he surrendered? Don't try to mask your stereotypes by saying it might be a "language/communication/cultural" issue. What? They don't date in France?

You're a fvcking tool. You now know me well enough to know that I have something against French people? I'm dating the daughter of a French guy in case you missed that. I may not agree with the policies of the French government, but I have absolutely nothing against someone because they may be French, you idiot. Fvck off.

At one point i felt sorry for him. Now his posts have made me look forward to the reality check he has coming when he flies all the way to Asia, just to be rejected on yet another continent.

The OP told us that the guy is speaking a different language. You don't think that's relative to figuring out if there is some miscommunication and trying to figure out the reason?

Way for you to let your biases and stereotypes color all the information you receive, so now the mere mention of the word French makes someone prejudiced. There's no reason to not take the OP's words at face value. If he has said the guy was Russian so the language barrier might have led to some miscommunication, i'm sure you would have jumped down his throat just as quick.

If you don't live in France, it's his job to conform to our culture. I went over to Paris and everyone was nice to me... Never had a problem with "rudeness". I say keep dating her and make efforts to befriend this man or impress him, but within reason. I mean, how often would you have to see him if you date his daughter? She may be worth the trouble no matter what her old man is like...afterall, you're dating her, not him. I'm sure you can change whatever impression he has of you over time. Just make it clear that you have noble intentions. (noble intentions to get her in the sak!!! :p)

Maybe the father hates to share?

Funny, the one and only American Dad I sat through had the same theme, except the boss was doing the daughter.

Avery: "Hey do you know what i was thinking about last night while I was gazing at the back of your daughters head?"

Stan: Hey, I'm hungry. This guy rode me like an animal for 3 hours! Do you have any idea what that's like?
(Pause, Hayley glares)
Stan: And now I'm not hungry.
