I'm taking a girl I've known for about a year out on a date for the first time. I normally don't go all out and get a girl flowers but I want to be clear that this is not a friendly thing and that I do have romantic feelings for her. The thing is she's a bit cynical, like me, so I'm worried if it'll come off as cheesy.. Thoughts?

Is ATOT your source for all your information?

Hell, whenever I have questions I ask my friends...not the entire internet.

She can be Ann Coulter cynical, and would still like getting flowers. It's in their chromosomes. Flowers is never a bad thing.

in my experience if she likes you at all, it won't matter if it seems cheesy or not. so do it. but don't get daisies or roses. get something a little different.

Single rose.

Don't show up with a doofy looking bunch of flowers. One will suffice.

Chicks dig flowers. But don't buy rose, 'cause that's only for valentine's day and if you fvcked up real bad.

Save the flower situations for when you need them the most as in hot water time. Just show more chivalry overall on the date.

I agree with most people. Don't get more than one flower if you absolutely want to give flower to her. Get something simple and bright.

If it were me, I will NOT give out flower on the first date. I think it would make it a little akward, especially if she currently treat you ONLY as friend. I would go out, have a really good time and try to know her better. You'll also have to open up and make sure that she knows you as much, if not more.

Then on the second date, WHAM ... immediately give her flower when you meet her and tell her how much you've enjoyed the first date. You'll be using the flower as token of appreciation to her for having such a good time.

She will melt.

Guaranteed. Everytime ..

:)

Good luck and don't mess up the first date if you really like her.

For someone you've known for that long...a single rose would be nice and not over the top.
If she's cynical about it...put it in your teeth and get down on one knee...this makes it more humorous. :)

I was going to go along with yes on the flower;
But, I believe err is much wiser in these matters.
