I know everybody has their own faults, but does your significant other have many faults that you tend to ignore, but can ignore only so much until you want to explode? Even though you tell them they refuse to change, which makes things even more complicated and irritable?

#1 do you talk it out like adults and try to resolve things slowly?

#2 do you talk it out but the other person refuses to listen?

#3 do you talk it out and the other person becomes agitated and misinterprets what you say and gets mad at you for specifying their faults?

then again, you know that someone really knows you well when they can irritate you at will, and push you to the brink of violence. my ex could do that without even trying. I knew what was happening, and was powerless to stop it. *sigh*

Hmmmmm... Not that I can think of.

She has a tendancy to be an "inside" person, and not talk about her feelings.. but that doesen't make me angry. We do our best to work through things.

I have never been truely angry at her, nor has she with me. After 1.7 years, I think that speaks volumes about our relationship. :)

no, the fact that you have over 12,000 posts speaks volumes about your relationship.

Ok, If you say so. My average posts per day is only 9. These last 3 weeks have been pretty bad, as far as postcount++ goes.. She's been away visiting her dad.

I doubt I'll be here nearly as much for the rest of the summer. Too much camping to do. :D

Besides, if I'm on AT when we're together it's because we're just chillin. She doesen't care. :p

Yeah, she always pants when she is hot. She likes to dig holes in the yard and roll around on the dead raccoon that she found. She likes to lick little kid's faces because she's an attention whore. After countless car rides, she STILL jumps into the backseat and tries to bite at the cars we meet on the road.

Me and my ex used to talk civil, then it turned into a total bitchfest, or #3

The trick is every time you find a fault, think of the good things and look at the fault in the big picture. Unfortunately I learned this too late :(

Yep.. Exactly.

It is hard sometimes. Keeping the big picture in mind is important though. Most people get caught up in stupid sh!t that doesen't even matter.

Not really, but I guess we haven't been going out quite long enough for those things to possibly become that irritating.

#2 and #3 as a rule. :( I'm always trying to find out what she's freaking about. But she generally either freaks worse or turns my words completely around so they're either a dig at her or something completely unrecognizable.

I thought it was just a female thing. ;)

My wife has a few irritating traits that I usually ignore. I realized a long time ago that you cannot change a person so, you have to decide to live with them, or not. Having made the decision to live with them, it is then your responsibility to live up to that decision.

When it gets out of hand, we have a conversation that usually stays in the realm of adult behavior so we can resolve the issue and move on.

Yep..

I feel fortunate to realize all these things at such a young age, especially since I care about my relationship so much.
