YAGT: Do you save the boxes for your long guns?

Obviously you should save all the paperwork that comes with a long gun, but do you save the cardboard box that it comes in as well?

If I have the room I keep the boxes since they can come in handy during moves or if you ever need to ship a gun.

Maybe to some people. Me, I'm not going to pay more for a gun just because it has a brown cardboard box. Selling it with a hard case? That's a different story.

Only have one, and it is old enough for the box to have deteriorated completely in storage. No point. If I were getting a new one (which won't be happening), then I definitely would. Always save your paperwork on that kind of purchase.

i did until i got a case for it, but no, it's been tossed, as well as the box my scopes came in

Why save the paperwork even? Like the manual (which is just full of lawyer-imposed safety talk) and/or warranty card?
