YAGT(?): Dilemma - damned if I do, damned if I don't . . ..

Okay people, just to get this out of the way, this is not a question of any sort nor is it a plea for help.

Anyhoo, this Saturday, there's a pretty big event for my . . eh, 'boss'. There's a seminar held by him during the day, and later on, there's going to be a celebratory dinner.

Not the YAGT part, obviously, read on . . ..

Well, to be honest, I'm not an integral part of the dinner, but I am one of the up-there-in-the-ladder type guys that almost everyone knows.

I'm a pretty young, good looking (if not incredibly clumsy with the girls - I cannot overemphasize how incompetent I am in this field) guy, and well, today, two e-mails come: one from a friend of mine, and another from another friend of mine (here's the part that you guys were waiting for):

- Friend A: a girl I was chasing after for a bit (I really, really shouldn't have - she's . . . not the sharpest knife in the kitchen, nor is she the cleanest . . ..).

- Friend B: a lady I know (married, maybe doable if she lost 30~50 pounds . . ..).

Yeah, you know where this is heading folks - One of them asks for me to call them, and the other asks if a.)I'm bringing a date, and b.)If she can bring her husband.

I haven't called the one yet (don't have to guess what she'll say), and I've replied to the other saying that I have no date, but she can bring whoever she wants . . . and she replies that she wants ME to be her date! :(:(:(

So I'm guessing that, well, I can tell girl A that I'm bring girl B as a date and vice versa . . . and I have to attend regardless . . . this is going to be fun, if not horribly evil. :D:D:evil:

Cliffsnotes version: Village bicycle and married lady want me as a date for an event I can't avoid: I'm going to have a bit of fun.

do what I'd do -- show up stag, get totally sh*tfaced, pick one of the two in a drunken haze and go have a nice romp in the closet.

What, and ignore the chance for fun? Of course I'm going dateless - I'm just going to tell each other that I'm the other one's date - they'll attend as well (they were going to regardless), and that's when the fun begins. ;)

I wouldn't pit them against each other with you in the middle. That will suck for you. A lot. Especially if you're Mr. Man On The Ladder. It's a long way down.

Again, show up and find some cute little thing who is neither of them. Drink. Romp. Problem solved.

Are these ladies co-workers?
Co-Workers are not good dates to company seminars. Particularly if you are up on that ladder a bit.
Fly solo or call someone else

Dude, those two are prolly the only ones without twigs and berries at this thing - it'll be ~20 people at most (even though more people should attend).

Anyhoo, that's what I was thinking in the first place - get an actual date for this thing and get it over with.
