Ah, I wish sandeagle's here to see this.

So here's a story about two cop hating assholes walking around with a AR-15 trying to cause trouble, but ran into a cop who used logic to own their asses. Enjoy.

They are douchebags.

They're just taking a "simple walk around" with an AR in front of the courthouse. So simple.

hmm so if felons can't own guns then how do cops enforce that if the person doesn't give any identification?

Oh and causing public alarm after a colorado shooting by walking around with AR on your back? Douchey. Are they expecting people to treat shootings as non-nonchalant events that no one should be paying attention to? Geez....

Ugh. Totally this.

What is so complicated for these dumb fucks? You're walking around displaying weapons that are similar to those used in some major mass murders the past several years.

Why are they stopping you?

Because you're openly walking around with an assault rifle you dumb fuck.

The only reason such as weapon would be needed is if you were:

A) Going to a shooting range.

B) Going to kill a bunch of people.

C) Trying to prove a point about gun rights.

Had you been with just a pistol, no one would really care that much (thought some calls would be made). But what police officer steps out of his cruiser and straps his AR15 on his back every time he goes to walk around?

I get the whole rights issue, but the reality is, unless a policeman checks that person out to verify that they're just trying to be a douchebag and prove their rights, you never know if the person carrying that weapon is ready for a mass attack on a courthouse. Stopping them to have a little talk would be enough to verify that.

Eh? I see people with ARs pretty frequently. Gun friendly state, Arizona.
The assault rifles over shoulders are no concern, the 9mms tucked into the waist bands of sweat pants of midnight Walmart customers, however, do.

Also wastes resource from dealing with true emergencies or patrolling for crimes

I hate these silly stunts. They aren't helping.

But I have to say that the AR-15 is not an assault rifle. It's an ordinary semi-auto rifle, just like any other.

Calling it an assault rifle is not helping, either.

While I get that, the lay person sees it as an assault rifle. IMO, anything that comes in a form of full-auto can be referred to as such, even if it technically isn't. That being said, most won't use an AR15 to hunt deer, so it doesn't have a lot of practical purpose other than sport shooting and massacres.

I get your point, my only thing is that this type of stunt differs from a guy wearing a blaze orange vest walking down the sidewalk with a shotgun.

I guess I can understand someone really wanting to "exercise" their rights.

But I'll say the same thing I did in the thread with the pic of the guy with the AR-15 in the grocery store:

At least leave the fucking magazines out while walking around.

I would have politely refused to have given him any information at all. It is within my rights to do so. the cop is just a stranger to me and I don't want my information in their report. Seemed like a good cop though
