YAGT: Caseless ammunition

the only one i can find is the Heckler und Koch G11.

You guys think we will ever adopt ammunition and create new firearms around the idea of caseless ammo? I realize that it heats up the barrel a good deal but it seems that advances in alloys should over come this.

They tried once and it failed. Who knows if it'll even be tried again?

It was just developed before it's time.
How do you mean? I think it was evident that caseless ammunition was superior than cased ammo in many situations.

I don't think most miltaries were prepared to accept the change. The military bureaucracy makes strange choices in regards to small arms a lot of the time.

Like XM8 they are looking at which is a dressed up AR-18 design that was originally offered in competition to the original M16. *shakes head*
