So you haven't talked to her for a few months and when she called you out of the blue you acted like an ass. She was probably just calling to say hi and you pretty much blew it for anything in the future. Men and women only become friends b/c they are somewhat attracted to each other.

or she could be one of those chicks that won;t date you and cok-blocks every time you try to get with any girl when she is around.

You sir, have apparently zero knowledge of how REAL women work.

I don't know about the star trek and star wars women... but REAL women need to be handled like the OP handled them when they act like this.

Pffft... friends? She is just a little attention whore that needs guys around her without feeling like a slut.

BACKSTORY: I was chasing this chick for a couple months last year. We met through a mutual friend. I wouldn't call the mutual friend a real friend, more like an acquaintance. But anyhow, we hit it off pretty well. Good conversation and whatnot. Got her phone number and e-mail and started exchanging phone calls and e-mails. Went out and ran errands together. Nothing official.

Everything was going good. In February of this year, I decided it was time to ask her out on her out on our first date. She gave the "I think of you as a friend" line. Slowly over the next two months, I slowed down communications and finally cut all communication at two months.

FAST FORWARD TO TODAY: I get a phone call from her. She seemed upset why I haven't been calling like I used to. Being the "nice" guy that I am, I told her I've been busy with work and whatnot. She kept pushing the issue.

Finally, I flat out told her, "I'm looking for a girlfriend... not a friend." It got quiet for about a minute. No words were exchanged in this time. This was followed by about half a minute of forced awkward conversation. I ended the conversation by saying "I was busy" and hung up.

I don't think I'll be hearing from her anymore... at least not for a while.

That was one of the MOST boring stories... EVER.. -_-;

You never know, she may turns up one day. People are changing. Especially after a conversation like this. Must have been a real kick in the face for her. Or not.

Good work. Shouldn't have chased for months though. Then you wouldn't have been friend zoned.

you should have told her more delicately, then you might have persuaded her to think harder about it. Now you just came off like a jackass.

Jackasses run the world. It's best to just say what you want to say, and to hell with what anyone thinks about it (unless they're important.)

Way to go, you let her know straight out what you were looking for, and she can't get hurt by that (but she will, she's a woman).

Onward to the next victim!!

Indeed. Got to ask her out on a date sometime soon and not get suck in the friend zone. BUT if she 'fancys' you, you are in after months anyway.

j/k

You don't understand women do you?

Girls only hook you up with friends who are lower on the social scale than they are (with a few exceptions). By letting them play matchmaker you just end up lowering your standards. Basically, SHE is too good for you, but her FRIEND (who rates lower than her) is "just right." If she thought you were so great, she'd be jockin you. Blow that bitch off and try again.

hahahah. I love ATOT. For a bunch of supposed nerds, you guys are a bunch of cold-hearted, rational-thinking bastards. I like it.

Friends with benefits wasn't an option?
FWB will always ultimately fail when one party goes in wanting more than the just "the benefits".

as long as you're not the one wanting for more, you're all set. ;)

QFT FWB can easily work if that's all both parties are hoping for.

You're an idiot. If you become her friend, your chances of it becoming more increase tenfold. If it doesn't work out, oh well, you have a new friend.

Friend zone = No sexual attraction on her part (unless she's dumb/ugly and gives you more than a few encounters to advance the relationship).

Are you one of those people who doesn't take 'no' for an answer and continues to try to seduce your target long after she's told you she's not interested?

"I think of you as a friend" is about as clear a message of disinterest as she can say without being flat out rude.
