Tell the friend and if he is as big a jerk as you say then it may be to your advantage to be rid of him in the first place.

5 days is too soon. I would wait a few weeks..atleast two.

When i was in highschool..15 or 16 I forget...My friend broke up with his gf. I had known her for a while but never anything but friends. I started dating her rougly 2 weeks after the break up. We are still friends. Granted...we were never BEST friends but still....freinds.

I nailed my best friends exwife a while ago. I even talked to him before starting anything with her. He was all for it, until she decided to him we had sex. I ended up with a radio thrown threw my car window. He got over it a few weeks later... to each his own...

I married my friends ex, and let me tell you...I saved his ass big time!! We're divorced now, and yeah it was hot while it lasted, but the woman is a fracking nut job! To top it off we have a child together and it has been the most wonderful 12 years of my life..not. 4 more years to go baby...Woohoooooooooo

Sounds like you already made up your mind.
If he was really such a prick to her and really treated her like crap and didn't care for her... Then you could hit it and quit it and then tell him a couple years later... she's pretty cute.
But if you're a really good friend then run for the hills.

Depends on the friend's take on exes. Most of my friends and myself could care less if the chick is an ex.
