i remember being "asked out" when i was in middle school.....
I did not think the same thing still flies. So, if he asked "do you want to be my GF" or "do you wanna go out with me?" that is basically the same thing, correct?

1) Hang out with her by yourself
2) Suggest to her you meet her at a place that is non-threatening (I suggest a coffee shop or the mall...)
3) Proceed to joke around with her and then pick up the nerve to ask her out
Sometimes the simpliest approach is the best. Coming on too strong may scare her, and making it a casual non-threatening place makes it easy on her to say yes or no (which is the best thing to do because it really comes down to her choice).

You probably mis-read the OP's question....he wasn't asking how to ask a girl out on a date, he asked how to ask a girl to be his gf...and like i said, if you need to ask...its probably not happening.
i don't think you ever really need to ask a girl to be your girlfriend, unless you are in middle school. Just ask the girl to go on a date with you, you are in HS now, you should be able to swing that. Things should progress after that.

Not true. Girls ask me out all the time. A lot of times they are the first to make a move too. I like it that way. Takes the pressure off me and also there is no guessing game for me. Makes it easy. There are a lot of women out there that will pursue if you dont.

The guy should be the first to act. Anything else sets a bad precedence in the relationship. Call me a chauvanist if you want, but most girls that I know say they like it when a guy can take the lead (NOT take control <totally different> but be the one to start things off).
Also, I knew a few girls who were very, very pushy in trying to "hang out" with me. It isn't as attractive as you think.
