One or two posters have commented on the AR so I figured I'd just do a post about it.

I'm currently running a highly modified Bushmaster. I've put in a JP trigger, Troy rail and swapped uppers from a fixed carry handle to a flattop.

In order to maximize shooting time I decided to get some night vision. i went with a Pinnacle tubed MUM. Its currently the best of the best, its what is in use by our armed forces. Its GOOD.

Now I should note, the pictures really do this NO justice. To give you an idea, at night I can go into a closet and close the door (pitch black) and sit down and read a book with the MUM. Its that good. Literally turns night into day. More to the point, I'm not a phototaker guy, so yeah....

Heres the package deal

Click

And the EO Tech sight.

Click

Heres a picture off my front porch looking between 2 neighbors houses.

You can see a touch more with the unadide eye, but you cannot see between the houses at all.

Click

Here we are looking through the NV betweren the 2 houses. You can see the fence and trees behind it.

Click

This is looking between my house and the neighbors. Its dark dark between here due to no streetlights and little ambient light.

Click

This is looking over at my neighbors house.

Click

This is in my bathrom. *No* ambient light however I did cheat and turn on the built in illuminator. Point being, it was *dark*.

Click

Heres the picture of the mount on the AR and the attach point on the MUM. Theres actually an attachment point on both sides to offset either right or left depending on your mounting preference.

Click

And here it is attached.

Click

What you get is the EOTech sight visibile in the MUM. You literally get the ability to make kill shoots at night. It opens up a whole new level of hunting.

Now everyones cup of tea, but figured someone might enjoy it. And remember, if you dont have anything nice to say, shut the fuck up lest Spec pops your tires from 300 meters at 2 in the morning. :p

I bet your neighbors enjoy you pointing your gun at their house in the middle of the night. :p

If you get the current stuff NV is incredibly good. Its the type of thing you just cant quite understand until you look through. AMAZING. Imagine going into you rcloset, sitting down and reading a book. I've done it. Cant do it to long or I get a headache, but yeah, its just aweomse. Truly it turns night into day.

Haha, sight EOtech or sight MUM?

The EOTech was....300 I think.

The MUM.....Well....A WHOLE SHITLOAD more. Like truly scary expensive.

Look around for a PVS-14. Now try to find a new Pinnacle tubed one. To give you an idea, heres a non Pinnacle PVS-14.

PVS-14

those pics are pretty awesome in the dark through the mum thingy. Do you actually go shooting at night, or is this for TEOTWAWKI/SHTF-type scenarios? Man, at this point I'm at the point of begging the wife to let me get a handgun, an AR15 would cause her to go ballistic. Oddly enough she's fine with a shotgun or a rifle.

I have it for both. The pics just dont do it justice, I wish I could get just one GOOD pic.
I havent had a chance to actually shoot at night yet, but I'm headed back to the farm next weekend so.... :D

Yeah, I'm gonna go kill some shit.

You could get a pistol and an IR laser. My IR laser got held up in customs, broke, then rejected back tgo the guy sho I bought it from. Pissed me off something fierce. Now I need to order another IR laser. I have the rail for my .22 sitting on my desk I need to install, then I put the IR laser on the .22, and July 1st I can submit my paperwork for a suppressor.

A suppressed .22 with IR laser and night vision. I get all tingly thinking about it. :D

 awesome! Woe to the poor creatures who get in your way. ;)

If I ever convince the wife to let me buy a pistol, I'll probably get a Springfield XD9 with the tritium night sights on it. Never owned a handgun before, but I've shot a couple 9's in the past. I figure if the wife lets me buy a 9, I can convince her later on to let me trade it in for a 45 which is what I really want (although I've never fired one before).

Hell just get the XD .45 :)

Tell her it holds less rounds if she has a fit ;)

Although admittedly a 1911 is a nice pistol.

Actually no. Its a Troy railed fore end, flattop and JP trigger. Otherwise standard M4 Bushmaster.
