As it stands, just move on, man. Having never met the other person does cast some pretty serious shadows on whether or not what you had was an actual relationship. You can talk to someone for 12 hours a day, everyday, and still not know a damn thing about them. Spending time with someone IRL is where everything starts to come out, and where you start actually learning about what a relationship is, what you can and should realistically expect from others, and what is required to maintain said relationship.
