I want to get a GPS for my wife, and possibly another unit for myself. Costco seems to have good prices for the Garmin 360 ($250) and Magellan 3225 ($200). I can also get a discount on a Garmin 260w at a local CarToys ($250).

So I'm wondering what the GPS gurus here would take if they had the choice.

I understand both makers use Navteq, so I assume routing would be almost the same, correct?

Signal acquisition/strength and TTS are most important to me. Probably followed by POIs and ease-of-use (for my wife). Bluetooth would be convenient for her, but it's not a must.

Any comments or suggestions between the 3 choices?

Well nevermind. Seems that Costco took the Garmin 360 off their website just today. The Magellan 4250 is going on sale next month though with coupon...making it $250. Could be a good deal. Certainly worth the extra $50 over the 3225 I'm guessing. Oh well, we'll see I guess.

"Yet Another GPS Thread"? :)

Do you happen to play Nethack too?

But back on topic, no idea on the GPS questions - my GPS is ancient, is from the previous century, and black & white and can only find it's way around when the weather is perfect and I'm not in mountains.

Good luck.
