So I met up with this girl, she seemed cool...yadda yadda yadda. I ended up going over to her house to try to fix her computer for her. She had almost 900 pieces of spyware on her puter, and her browser was completely hijacked. I ran adaware and one of the lovely pieces closed out adaware and rebooted the computer whenever it ran. I had to pick up my son from school, so I had to leave it as it was. She called me like ten times that night trying to get me to come finish fixing it. I told her I couldnt, and that if I could go out there the next day I would. She got all pissy and moody with me so I let her go. The next day my son was having some problems so I couldnt make it up there. I told her about my son and she got all mad about me not being able to go up there. She never asked how I was doing, if my son was ok, anything. So I decided that she is pretty much an ungreatful and thankless girl and that I dont need to talk to her anymore. In the meantime she still has no browser, and she has no chance of fixing it on her own.

Was I wrong?

She might be ungrateful, but you should at least finish what you started, karma is a b!tch.

Step One - See above.

Step Two - Charge $30/hr from now on, regardless if you know the person or not. That way, she won't send you any referrals..

Becuase it always, always happens. You can only be a nice guy for so long. A for effort, though!

nope. I was just trying to be nice. She seemed like a nice girl and I thought I would try to help her out. She actually isnt my type at all. Just another reason why not to be nice I guess.

Is she hot? She is probably used to taking advantage of someone being nice and she is dumbfounded by your restraint to go over there and fix her computer while eyeing her boobs.

When I do that kind of favor I have the person drop the system off at my house so that I can fix it at my leisure.Oh and any system that is that infected, you're better off time wise simply reformatting, reinstalling the OS,apps and data.Repeated spyware and virus scans take too much time to do them for free.

I tried getting her to bring it over here, but she is a single mom and didnt have the time to. I had a couple of free hours and thought I would help out. After I saw how bad things were I told her that reformatting was the best option, but she was worried about losing all of her data. I know that if I had enough time I could fix it without formatting.

I am talking to her on aim now. She is still being the same way. I am about to offer her my services at my standard $50 an hour.

Unless she paid you for the service of removing that crap from her system and you haven't done so... nope, she's the one in the wrong. From that attitude, I pitty the man who gets involved with her.

Edit: Didn't see you response above mine about the situation beforehand. Yeah, you were trying to be nice and ended up in a situation worse than you expected. She's in the same situation she was before, but suddenly it's all your fault. Sounds about right.

Is she good looking? If so, she'll probably be able to find someone on ATOT who would be willing to fix it for a lower rate than that :)

she is about 5', 100 pounds, blonde hair, blue eyes. But she is a wannabe gangsta chick. That is what turned me off from her. She isnt ugly in the least, but personality means way more to me than looks.

If she doesnt calm down she is about to be in a worse position.

Giving someone your admin PW, then bithcing at them is never a good idea.
