This will shake things up a bit.

I personally don't see why people say Global Warming DOESN'T EXIST PERIOD. There's no denying that greenhouse gasses play some role.

My personal view is that it's a combination of the 2 (Nature and gasses).

My thoughts exactly...

I do think we need to act is if global warming is 100% anthropomorphic and get to work on seriously reducing our emissions... I am huge proponent of "green" engineering all around.

But our understanding of the earth's climate is far from complete.

In 2005 data from NASA's Mars Global Surveyor and Odyssey missions revealed that the carbon dioxide "ice caps" near Mars's south pole had been diminishing for three summers in a row.

This belongs in P&N.

MARs has seasons, in Spring the Co2 evaporates at the pole exposing the water ice underneath. This evaporation makes a detectable rise in the Co2 on Mars. Now put 2+2 together and recognize the fact you are being PWNED by anti-global warming mindf@@kers.

First, we should be as responsible as we possibly can with our emmissions regardless of it's net effect on the earth.

Second, I think there are so many variables that come into play when talking about the earths climate added to the fact that we have so little gathered climate information that it would be very premature to say that humans are the biggest cause of the current warming.

Another thing to realize is that even if we are the cause of all these changes, our supply of fossil fuels is going to run out and emmissions will drop. Life or existance doesn't end because the earth changes. We will just have to adapt, as we always have. If we don't adapt, something else will and the universe goes on.

I thinkthe point is though, sure we will adapt, but if we make gradual changes starting now, we won't have to make more drastic changes later.
It's easier to run casually up a ramp than to run headlong into a cliff and have to quickly scale it.

Unfortunately, I don't think the general population is even willing to make any changes on their own part. The only changes that will happen will be corporations making more energy efficient products. Considering that usually means lower profits, I doubt you'll see many drastic changes from anyone.

I say do the best you can to be as eco-friendly as possible and just ride the wave. I don't think we have the benefit of walking up a ramp anymore.

Well sure it's still a ramp. With each passing year, the angle simply increases, to the point that it becomes the cliff we're trying to overcome.

I knew it... this news was too big not to have already been posted. I searched for a few terms... didn't see anything.

This scientist is definitely onto something. I wish he would share some of those shrooms with the rest of us and possibly some of money he made for making that statement. I'm sure big business and government reform only needs a little argument in the other direction to avoid fixing the problems they're causing.
